We visited Doan's in Charlotte for lunch and we know that there were several options for Vietnamese in the area. The location in a strip mall made it convenient to park and the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated very nicely. The service was excellent and the food was equally solid - full of flavor, fresh and filling. The Summer Rolls wrapped in rice paper were good and the Pho and Pad Thai were served hot and really nicely presented. We will definitely return when we're back in the area and highly recommend Doans.

First off want to say that I'm vietnamese and here on business and this is the 3rd viet restaurant I've been to. Definitely the best one too. Food was very flavorful and priced right. Got large bowl of pho for the same price as the small bowl of the other places. Other places only had one size bowl too. Place was also very clean. Menu selection was also reasonable, but could add more to it imo. This will be the only viet restaurant I go to when I'm in Charlotte now.

Takeout is excellent but it would be nice to eat-in too. It's not charmless like so many mostly takeout places. The Banh Xeo - to die for. The avocado smoothie will change your life (beware - it's HUGE!). The spring rolls are very good. Service was not super organized, but it was super helpful. Definitely a spot I will hit every time I come to Charlotte. Area is kind of sketch, if that's an issue for you.

If you want good Vietnamese food, ask Vietnamese people where they eat and what they order. Doan's, a new Vietnamese restaurant at 5937 South Blvd. (closed Wenesdays), came highly recommended and offers real Vietnamese food at reasonable prices. We were delighted to have Andy Pham (the owner's son) as our server, and savored fresh spring rolls(not fried) with peanut sauce, spicey beef pho and tender, savory beef with peppers and onions. The portions are large, service is good, prices are reasonable. The food is very good, just like what we've eaten when we traveled in Vietnam. The restaurant is roomy and unpretentious with plenty of parking. We'll be regulars.
