“Eh- it's an ok place, average”

Description: Located at NC Music Factory compound in Charlotte, VBGB has a great beer selection and delicious food (especially the soft pretzel with beer cheese sauce). It reminds me of the beer gardens that are ubiquitous in central Europe, but the beer is cold (not to mention the frost rail on the bar). I've been going there since it opened earlier this year, and more people need to know about it! This place also has awesome giant games on the largest patio in Charlotte. Giant Chess, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, 4 sets of cornhole boards, 2 Ping Pong Tables and the whole patio is surrounded by volleyball courts... nice views in the summertime!! If you are going to The Fillmore or Uptown Amphitheater, then you are 50ft away from either of their doors/gates. On Friday and Saturday nights, they have DJ's on the patio for the late night crowd. It gets a bit louder during those hours. Great people watching!

“Eh- it's an ok place, average”
Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in here before a concert to have some dinner and drinks. Drinks are what you'd expect..... The food is not very great for the price. We thought the food was average but a little overpriced for regular, run of the mill bar food.

“The only place to drink and play for adults and kids”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

I have a 3 and 1 year old and this is the only place I can enjoy a drink without a kid in hand. Very family friendly, lots of activities and games for them and for us adults (giant chess, board games, corn hole, ping pong, beach volleyball) and enclosed garden open enough for kids to run around and play with other kids. Cool bar with lots of TVs and awesome pretzels and chicken bites.

“Fun evening!”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Great location right next to The Fillmore. Went for drinks before the concert. Large assortment of beers on tap would be able to find something for everyone. Large outdoor area where multiple volleyball games were being played. Neat touch inside there is an ice bar around the bar area where your beer is sure to always be chilled! After party for concert was held here as well. Definitely would recommend at least a beer here cool place.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Good selection of beer on tap with lots of games to play outside, including corn hole and large Jenga, chess, and Connect 4 games. Good service and great food (especially the pretzel with beer cheese, nachos, and sweet potato fries). Trivia on Thursday nights are fun, but taking less time between rounds would keep people more interested.

A huge assortment of beer makes me happy. Loved going in after the concert we saw. Vibe was awesome. Good music. Will definitely eat next time, but this trip was all about the brew.
