some travelers have compared to Central Park. I don't think I would go that far, but it is a nice place to have lunch, walk, or bike. Kids can play on the standard playground or on a football training play area. Kids enjoyed the stop to have lunch and take a break from the car. Lots of birds.

Got a little tired of traffic and stopped here to walk a bit and unwind. It is a nice park but I think it is stretching it to compare with Central Park or any Olmstead Park. It is the largest park in Charlotte which is kind of sad that the 15th largest city should be so devoid of a quality park system. Quite a bit of animal poop to watch out for and some trash on the ground. Needs some TLC

I moved from NYC to Charlotte & when I first went to Freedom park that is what I thought of it. Jokes apart, this a real nice park in the Dilworth area. Amongst many soccer games, toddlers playing, birthday bashes and many taking quiet stroll by the water side, I can just drive to the park and unwind by taking a quick round. If you live here in the city, worth checking this out. Although nothing special for out of town people.

Suprisingly nice city park. Does not feel like you are only a few miles from downtown. Nice place to jog or have some down time.
