Perfect place to walk, run, bike, stroll with your child. Connects to Sugar Creek Greenway. Simple beauty.

Take the family to freedom park. It is one of the best in Charlotte. Bike rides, playgrounds, just relax and read. Great place, can't go wrong. Only issue is if it is an exceptionally nice day...you won't be the only one with that idea.

The park was beautiful with trees and bushes in bloom. I got many great photos. It is in the middle of Charlotte and I drove through a beautiful residential area to get to the park entrance. The bridges over the waterways are varied and beautiful. A couple of small drawbacks were the number of school groups and sidewalk construction that was happening during my visit. Otherwise, this is a beautiful oasis in the middle of Charlotte.

Freedom park is a gem in the middle of the city. It is a clean park with well kept restroom facilities. There is a loop where you can walk around the little lake and watch the ducks. There are often festivals occurring that bring out the crowds but on a normal day it is a perfect spot to spend a few hours. Parking is free and ample. There are sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, a baseball field, tennis courts, a large play place for kids, swings... including baby swings and a disabled chair swing. They do outdoor concerts and have a leveled lawn for shows. On the grounds there is also the nature museum, which is accessible for several directions. Overall it is a great park! We always feel safe there!

This is a great place to go for a nice walk/run, picnic, playground for kids, etc. I just took my son for about an hour to walk around and see the ducks swimming in the pond. It is very spacious and isn't crowded at all which makes this a great experience for anyone visiting.
