Stayed for two nights while in town for a wedding. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds super comfortable...duvets rather than comforters which I always prefer. Everything was very clean in the room and around the hotel. The shuttle is so convenient, we never had to wait. Good breakfast.

A one night stopover after a long flight and upcoming long drive. We were warmly greeted and everything was just about perfect in this surprisingly modern city.
I say almost perfect because we thought that we had no hot water. The faucets were the opposite of the usual configuration! There was no safe or fridge and no closet. So not great for long stays.
Otherwise, we had very comfortable beds, good amenities, very clean room and the personnel were extremely nice.
We weren't bothered by any renovations supposedly going on maybe because it was a Saturday night.
Breakfast was good but only served till 10 although arriving afterwards didn't seem to be a problem.
The onsite free parking was appreciated, the location perfect being a short drive from the airport and major highways as well as within walking distance to good restaurants, shopping and tourist sights.
A free shuttle was available to take you anywhere locally.
To be highly recommended, like the other reviewers did.

We were there for our family vacation this year and really loved it. Everyone there was really nice and helpful. The lobby was being renovated when were there but it looked like they were almost done. It didn't cause us any problems.

The breakfast was great and they rotated the hot offerings daily so there was variety each day we were there. The only complaint here was the breakfast servers had gospel music blaring out of their kitchen every day we were there. I'm fine with them having their music playing but they could have toned it down so maybe only they could hear it while they are in the kitchen.

The rooms were nice but seemed a little small. That is not unusual for a downtown hotel as space seems to be at a premium. We were close to an elevator but didn't hear it at night. I usually put the fan on the A/C unit so it runs all the time. This always helps to drown out noises. I did notice that I was able to hear the water running from rooms around us a pretty good bit but it wasn't anything that kept me awake.

I wasn't aware that they had a shuttle that would take you around a 3 mile radius. We took advantage of it one time for dinner and it was a nice touch.

One last note. My son left his iPod nano and earbuds somewhere in the room. He realized he didn't have it after we were about halfway home. We called the hotel and they checked with housekeeping but it hadn't turned up. After we got home and unpacked, it still didn't turn up so we wrote it off as having been caught up in the bedding and probably washed or something like that. The next day, I got a call from the hotel that it had turned up. They offered to mail it to us but my brother lives there so he went by and picked it up.

Room Tip: 4th or 5th floor are good as they connect to the parking garage. I noticed a couple of rooms right...

Furnishings in my king whirlpool room were outdated; but it seems the property overall is readying itself for a major refresh. Lobby was very much under construction, so I'm hoping that the guest rooms are next on the list. Not bad, just tired and needing a refresh.

Staff were very warm and pleasant, and the location can't be beat!

We stay alot of hampton inn's, I am a hilton honors member. This was one was very diappointing. The breakfast was always served late, the eggs and oatmeal were cold, the coffee not even hot. The staff was very nice especially corina. All of the other hampton inn's had a safe and a refridgerator. This one did not. The beds were very soft and uncomfortable

We booked a king mini-suite for 3 nights for our annual wedding anniversary road trip. From my first phone call to inquire about a couples massage package which had been charged 3 times (they not only corrected that, but recalculated our entire stay and reduced our total bill by almost a third!) to our last night when we returned to find our room decorated with silk 'rose petals', mood music playing from the TV, and a bottle of chilled champagne next to the jacuzzi, the attentiveness of the entire staff was the most impressive I've ever experienced!
Other great features of this hotel is the free breakfast buffet (real food, like eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, fruit, even DIY waffles), marred slightly by renovations on the main floor which forced the staff to set up the buffet in a conference room. They have a free shuttle van which runs in the uptown area that came in very handy when we found a sale on wine and didn't feel like walking 2 miles back to the hotel with 12 bottles. Also, there's a parking tower available at the hotel (shared with the neighboring Hilton) so you don't have to leave your car outside.
Overall, the Hampton Inn Charlotte-Uptown made our vacation trip a complete success. We'll definitely look for an excuse to return to Charlotte just to stay there!

Room Tip: The parking garage can be accessed directly from the 4th & 5th floors.
