“Cool, worth a quick drive”
Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

Since we were already on this side of town after a visit to the dog park, we stopped by. Like most great works if art, it looks exactly like the pictures, but it still takes your breath. At sunset, it's gorgeous.

“Worth seeing it”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Is a very nice sculpture. But is in the middle of a business area with nothing else around. You will need to drive 15 mins from downtown and you will not spend more than 5 minutes taking pictures. If you are time constrained go somewhere else.

“Not your mother's giant head!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

This big giant head is not - to my knowledge - the same as the one from Third Rock. It does not - at least to my eye - look anything like William Shatner. Though it is allegedly a fountain, it does not always have water running, which can probably make it look a bit different - a head in a pond is different than a head in a fountain, right? It could be that the fountain was fixed during the recent renovations, and now that the head has returned, the fountain will always be running.

What a company to put a monstrous, rotating metal head in front of the building, I will never know, but it is cool. Even better is the fact that the head is made up of bunches of little platters. Unfortunately, what looks like perhaps fifty tiny platters do not spin - only the larger "bundles" of platters (four or five of them).

This means that the forehead and the nose can be pointing in different directions at times. It seems to happen - roughly - every fifteen minutes or so, and the head points generally in compass points in relation to the building behind it, but it does not necessarily go around those points, stopping at each in order (like dealing a deck of cards).

Instead, it seems to follow you. We had an impromptu picnic, and the head pointed away from the building. But when we were sitting on the steps, it turned to look at us, in a disjointed way. Then we went to the side and it reconfigured (to its normal state) and looked in that direction. Then we went back to the steps and it turned that way. Eventually we got used to it, until we went to leave and the head turned and in its cross-plattered way, it turned to look at us, as if to ask us not to go. That was a bit creepy.

“Very Interesting!!!”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

A very unusual piece of art, this is located in front of an office building in a business park on the southwest part of town. It's easy to find and there is plenty of parking.

I had read different things on the web, but was unaware that the fountain was operational. I believe it is lit up at night, which would make a wonderful sight!

“Very nice!”

Metalmorphosis is a definite go. We went here just to see what it was and ended up having a great time taking pictures. I would definitely go there if you want to take some pictures with your family
