Every time I come to Charlotte I stay at this hotel. I love the made to order breakfast, the location, free internet and the hotel staff. They are always friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beautifully appointed. I had a regular government price room not a suite but I can't complain everything was great. I pay for valet because I get reimburse however, if you want to avoid the charge just park across the street it is about half the price for overnight.

i was very please with the hotel. it was hip, clean and great location. the morning breakfast covered all the bases. Hot eggs, sausage, hasbrowns, french toast and other items including fruit and cereal. the room was very well equipt with microwave, fridge, two burner top and sink. we only stayed one night but if you were staying longer the mini kitchen would come in very handy. room sevice was great they made a small mistake and corrected it immediately :) i did not realize the pool on the roof was heated we would have used it if we knew but next time we will check that out!

We spent New Year's weekend 2011/2012 here, and our stay was very pleasant. The location is excellent, being adjacent to Time Warner Arena and only steps to all Center City has to offer. The hotel is a contemporary style, very attractive. Our king-suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable (especially the bed). Once our room door was closed, we never once heard any hallway noise, not even on New Year's Eve. The staff - Front Desk, valet, housekeeping, breakfast staff - were all friendly, welcoming, helpful, and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel is located directly next to the Time Warner Arena (Home of the Charlotte Checkers Hockey & Charlotte Bobcats Basketball)

The location is awesome since your within a mere 2 minute walk to the Bus Transit Station and Subway, as well a mere 5 minute walk to the Entertainment Mecca area full of top name restaurants, bars, shops & nightclubs...

Check-in was a breeze and we were given a room on the 15th floor (Room 1515) facing the downtown & arena)

Pros:

Complementary Hot Breakfast Included in Rate
Free WIFI
All Rooms have a Modern Feeling & Very Good for Business Travelers
Complementary Business Center (Located in the lobby area with 3 computers and printers)
(Nightlights Attached to the top of your bed for reading or working at night and not bothering the other person if you have two beds

The personal touch was definately there as well, everytime I entered the hotel or left the hotel the front desk would say "Enjoy your afternoon or Enjoy your Evening" and when I returned they would say "Welcome Back"..

The hotel also has a very nice bar with flat screen tvs for watching sports games or news etc located right in the lobby..

Last but not least the outdoor heated pool on the 7th floor with patio and gas fireplace, a very nice touch to say the least.....( I did use it when I was there in the end of December with it being 40 degrees outside).

...

Room Tip: Have a room facing the North or towards the arena

Went to see the Bobcats game. The hotel is literally right next door. The hotel has all the amenities that you need such as gym, pool, laundry, valet, a nice breakfast in the morning. Just had a couple of issues such as trash under the sink and the toilet seat was flimsy. I told the front desk and the game us a different room. Besides that the stay was prime.

Location is key, and this Hotel has that and much more. The hotel is right next door to the NBA arena, and within 1 to 2 blocks of the entertainment district, the city transportation hub and light rail stations. The Hotel itself is less than a year old, and is decorated in a Contempory style that is sharp and uplifting. The mattress is very comfortable and the rooms are a good size. The Breakfast, that is included with the stay is Great, and includes made to order omlets as well as scrambled eggs, various meats on certain days, pancakes, fruits, and just about anything you would look for in a breakfast. The only down side is that the building only has 2 elevators, and at peak time ie. after a ballgame or during peak morning time of checkout, you may have to wait a little while to get one.
Overall you can not go wrong with this Hotel.

Due to our work schedule we could not get out of town as hoped for the holidays so planned a night out in our home city. We chose this hotel as it was close to many restaurants, the Epicentre, and the Belk theater. Living in Charlotte the past 15 years it is amazing to see how much it is has grown and how the downtown, uptown, center city area is now a fun place with lots of choices for families and couples.

Upon arriving at hotel no valet was in sight and there is not a designated parking space to pull up to. We proceeded to pull in to the garage only to be met by a valet attendant who made us go back backwards down the ramp and back to the street to park on the sidewalk. Check in was normal. Nothing too special. The front desk was not really pleasant which is suprising as you would hope that your city would put its best foot forward with "southern hospitality" as a lot of fans from Raleigh and Louisville were descending to Charlotte for the bowl game.

The hotel is very hip and has nice furnishing. The room was clean and spacious. Unfortunately no bedding was placed in the closet for the sofa bed and we had to go down to the front desk upon returning from a night out around 11pm to wait and wait and wait for someone to hand us some sheets but no pillows. The front desk again was not overly nice and it seemed we were a burden to ask for the sheets.

If they not tell you at the front desk there is a nice lounge area and small pool at the hotel. We had to discover it ourselves and wish we knew earlier in the day.

Upon waking in the morning we awoke with stiff necks from the soft pillows on the king bed. The free breakfast was nice but only saw one person working and because she had to be in the kitchen preparing items it seemed some guest did not know made to order omelets were available at a seperate station. The choices were plentiful and is a nice touch that I hope the Hyatt will keep when they take over.

Valet at the end of the stay was excellent as he opened all our doors (it was raining) and asked us if we needed directions anywhere.

Overall, it was a nice stay. We highly recommend eating at Aria, a drink at the Dandelion Market, some treats at Bar Cocoa, and taking in some entertainment at the Blumenthal, Time Warner Arena, or the Epicentre. We can definetly see another staycation in the future however we will just have to make a decision if we want to give the Hotel Sierra (Hyatt House) another chance.
