This was a wonderful experience. We went there for an afternoon snack and left full. The pastries are excellent, as are the freshly made iced teas. The eclectic decor is inviting and fun. The salty caramel brownie is delicious in both the regular and gluten free versions.

“its good but nothing outstanding”
Reviewed August 16, 2014

decent coffee and dessert. i did not think it was anything outstanding to deserve 5 stars. the inside had a eclectic assortment of furniture and decorations. made it a cool place to hang out and play on the computer. i would go back if in the area but would not make a long trip for it.

“Need a treat or lunch?”
Reviewed August 16, 2014 via mobile

Not far from the Noda Brewing company in Charlotte within the Noda arts and food district, visit France with unique French pastries and grab lunch. The chocolate lavender creme brulee is simply a rare find and try the blueberry lemon torte. The bakery is covered with old school art and random household items that make this place feel homely.

“Could be much better.”
Reviewed August 16, 2014

I travel to France every year and to me this barley tastes like french pastries. The service is not bad. If you want to go out somewhere a little snack its not bad but i would recommend not to go for lunch dinner or dessert.

“A disappointment after all the reviews”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

We visited here for a late breakfast due to all the wonderful reviews we read. We were disappointed and felt the place was very over-hyped.

The restaurant is very cute inside -- eclectic and whimsical decorations which gave a charm to the space. The food and drinks did not measure up. I had a croissant, and my husband had a chocolate croissant. Both were stale and a bit hard. The croissant tasted about like what one would buy from a grocery store. I had a cafe au lait which actually was quite good. My husband's cafe latte was about what one would get from Panera, so nothing special.

The tarts, pastries, etc. in the bakery case looked lovely. We had intended to buy a few to take with us, but after the poor experience with the croissants, we changed our minds. All in all we felt that this was "French food" done by someone without much experience of the real thing.
