With a flight arriving late evening into Charlotte, we rushed down town, with it being nearly 11pm, and having never visited Charlotte previously we were unsure where to go for a good meal. After asking a policeman who looked like he enjoyed food where’s good to eat, Fleming’s was recommended.
Even though 11pm, there was problem, and we were shown to our table. Due to the time, and not so many customers, there were many staff preparing the tables for the next day, polishing glasses and cutlery – giving you a good feeling that that level of attention has been given to your own table.
The restaurant is beautifully presented, with smartly dressed, friendly waiters offering the wine list via an Ipad, and also a great understanding of the menu offerings, not just quoting you verbatim what you can already read yourself.
I chose the mushroom ravioli, and main filet mignon, cooked rare, with a side order fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and well seasoned.
It’s not a cheap place to eat, but the quality and presentation of food makes it worthwhile.
