After reading about Ilios Noche in both Zagat and Charlotte Magazine's restaurant guide, we had Christmas Eve dinner there with good friends (who had eaten there several times before). Had read mostly positive reviews online, tho noticed some that cautioned "don't understand the hype/don't expect TOO much/etc."
It was a fantastic meal. Truly delicious Italian and Greek dishes, even if they were somewhat simple (that combo makes it sound like a diner, but far from it). Passable wine list. Service was fine -- nothing special, but not a disaster. In all, a *very* good spot for foodies that have families, which is pretty rare in CLT.
Our friends told us there is regularly a pretty considerable wait (which we didn't experience, perhaps b/c of Christmas Eve). I'm not sure it would be worth standing around for 30+minutes ... but absent that, we would wholeheartedly recommend it.
