Description: Rí Rá opened its doors for the first time on March 14th, 1997. The pub survived a major fire in 2009 and will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2017. Meticulously restored in Ireland and shipped to the US, Rí Rá embodies everything that you would expect from a genuine Irish pub. The pub has been carefully restored from old Irish pubs and related salvaged artefacts including an original shop bar, a 19th century Victorian bar. The pub and fire restoration required a tremendous effort from a select group of master carpenters, glazers and painters. We are proud to showcase a unique and genuine Irish pub in Uptown Charlotte.

We wanted to try out an Irish restaurant in Charlotte, NC. We went to Ri Ra and noticed the number of people coming and going and waiting to be seated. We waited about 15 minutes and were seated for dinner. I noticed that people were coming and going throughout our meal. Although not entirely Irish, I had to try the fish and chips and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. Our waiter was Irish which added to the atmosphere. I want to go back and try other items on the menu like corned beef and cabbage and the traditional Irish breakfast.

This is one of our favorite places to dine at when we are seeing a show at Time Warner Arena. Their food is always delicious. Their fried pickles will have you addicted at first bite! They have this amazing appetizer called a freuben where they fry a Ruben and the dipping sauce is to die for with it! Their nachos are so delicious and my husband loves the fish tacos! We have tried everything on the menu at least once and although we have our favorites, there isn't anything I wouldn't recommend trying. When you're finished with your meal, save room for dessert because they have the creamiest most delicious homemade Baileys Irish cheesecake that you will ever eat!! This is a must have each time with their chocolate chocolate martini!!

We had brunch there on Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice. Our waiter was really Irish which was great, although we did have a little trouble with his accent.
We ordered the Potato Cakes with Duck Comfit and Guinness Stew. The food was very good.

When asked if the pies were made fresh, I was assured that they were. Indeed, based on the consistency of the vegetables, they used frozen ingredients to "make" the pies, and the potato topping for the pies was made from instant potatoes, which really detracted from the flavor. I would not eat here again.
