Owner description: Located in what was the original branch of the United States Mint, Mint Museum Randolph opened in 1936 in Charlotte’s Eastover neighborhood as the state’s first art museum. Today, in a beautiful park setting, intimate galleries invite visitors to engage with the art of the ancient Americas, ceramics and decorative arts, fashion, European and African art, among other collections. Resources include a reference library with over 18,000 volumes, a theater featuring lectures and performances, and a museum shop offering merchandise that complements both the permanent collection and special exhibitions.

“Full of wonderful treasures!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

The exhibits were very fun and approachable with just the right amount of casualness and size that lets someone like me with a short attention span, take it all in. To keep the kids occupied and educated, they have bags in each room with a "find the piece of art" that the kids find and read about. This particular museum had some really interesting exhibits like a room of fashion from Balmain to Dior through the years to a room of porcelain. It was just a really well presented and unexpected.

“Worth the effort to figure out how to get there”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

For a tiny museum on the edges of the city it's well worth the afternoon. The exhibits range from local history, geology and nature, to a larger over view of the continent. The front yard is wide and grassy to sit and enjoy the large trees and flower gardens.
