Owner description: Visitors are awed by the interactive, multi-sensory exhibits at this museum dedicated to exploring the Southern United States during the post-Civil War period.

First time to visit....well laid out and easy to read the information on the displays. Well done videos in several areas. It's amazingly sad to see the way Americans treated other Americans over the years....I learned many things I don't remember ever hearing before. We went in and were told it was FREE for the day - so you can't get any better than that.

It was interesting to learn about this time period certainly, and it had nice displays like setups of 1950s barbers, shops, churches etc. informative. Perhaps a little dull for teenagers or children.

It was recommended by a friend who lives locally and I was not disappointed. The staff were informative and helpful. The exhibits were first class, emotional and challenging. Loved finding out about the culture and history.

Visiting out son & daughter in-law in Charlotte so we decided to go to the Levine museum last Sunday. Turned out its free on Sunday with a parking garage next door that they give a voucher for.
Informative and interactive history of the south and how Charlotte played a part.

Wow, this is a great museum! The permanent exhibits are high quality and very interesting. This is a great experience for anyone who grew up in the Charlotte area because it will bring back memories from a few decades ago. This is also a great experience for anyone who's new to the Charlotte area or visiting because it will help you understand the culture and history of this city before the great influx of people from all over the country. Plus, as an added bonus, this museum is in a great cultural location in uptown.
