“Interactive and Emotional”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

The ability to literally step into time with various scenes from history. It brought back memories from my Mother who lived through those times. A MUST SEE Museum.

“An Eye-Opener”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Take an hour or two to walk through the years as Charlotte grew from a backwoods country settlement to a large metroplex. Along the way, you'll see the pain and struggles that came following the Civil War, the Jim Crow era, and the civil rights movement. The exhibits are crammed with artifacts, models, audio and video. The whole experience takes you back in time, but this is more than the story of a North Carolina city. This is a glimpse of our human story.

“Great museum for remembering”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

This museum was really nice. Everyone was so friendly. It is so much bigger inside then it looks from the outside. The tour guides were very informative. You could tell they had a true passion for the history of Charlotte and the south. Great place for everyone to visit.
