“A quick place to take the kids”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

It's not much to look at; however, for young kids it's terrific. There's a great little nature trail and the butterfly garden keeps kids interested and excited. You can spend a good 90 mins here and the kids won't be disappointed.

“A GREAT place for nature lovers of all ages”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

The Charlotte Nature Museum is a wonderful little museum designed for children ages 10 and under. But even adults who like seeing native Carolina animals will enjoy a visit there. There are many hands on exhibits. My favorite part is the indoor Butterfly Garden, where visitors can walk or sit in a tropical greenhouse and watch the many butterflies and other creatures. There are many animal exhibits, including owls, snakes, turtles, small chicks, and frogs. They have a tame Skunk that is often brought out for the children to see and touch.

One of the best features of the Charlotte Nature Museum is the many showcase days they have on the weekends. Around Easter they have Bunny Day, where people can come and see and learn all about rabbits. Early in the year there is Chicken Day, when chickens are featured. Look at their Events calendar on their website to see what is coming up soon.

All in all it's a great place to visit.

“Take it or leave it”
Reviewed April 28, 2012 via mobile

Not bad for the price. Our two year old seemed to like it but it would probably be better for a slightly older kid.

“A place for Mom and kids alike!”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Just visited and was quite happy with it. They have lots of animals on sight for the kids to see and not common ones. They had Owls, a Skunk, bugs, snakes... they have an outdoor play area with a sandbox, a tepe and a few other things. it was a nice visit for 6.00!

“It's nice”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

We have a membership to all of the Discovery Place locations, including the Nature Museum. So we visit on occasion to spend an hour looking at the creatures, and observing the butterflies. I only give it an average rating, as it's too small of a location to be fussing with a paid entrance. I have seen other locations in different states like this and they were free. Plus side? The butterfly room. Nice little place of respite! Nice place for 5 and under.
