“Awesome if you have kids or a group of friends”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

This place was very busy with an hour wait, line out the door. For a family with kids, it may be hard to last that long but it was well worth the wait. This is extremely interactive with a wide range of things to keep everyone entertained. We were a group of adults just checking out the museum but there were many families that would let their little ones run wild to learn and hopefully get worn out for an early night to bed. There were also exhibits with fish and other critters which we all enjoyed. Overall a great place to visit and would highly recommend for a rainy weekend or anytime you are free.

“A great place for all!”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Discovery Place is a wonderful place to play and "discover." There is something available for all ages. Children love it, especially the hands-on activities and attractions. IMAX theatre is also available, as well as rotating exhibits throughout the year. There are some restaurants nearby that can also make for a fun day in downtown Charlotte, NC.

“Excellent Place to take kids”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

We visited here with our 7 year old and she absolutely loved it. We were pressed for time since we live in Charleston and had a three hour trip back home. When you visit here plan to allow time for each exhibit so your children can enjoy them fully. They only downfall we found with this place is that we had to pay five extra dollars to watch a film where the sitting was limited and we had to sit on the floor. That should've been included. So we payed twenty bucks for each adult, which I wished we didn't pay the extra 5 bucks because it was a waste of money. The shop is a little over priced but that's to be expected. We didn't get a chance to watch any of the films (even the one that's included in the admission price). We will be returning and are very excited to be able to take our time with all the exhibits and fully exercise everything.

“Great spring break day #101Inventions and Hubble IMAX”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

Great spring break day #101Inventions and Hubble IMAX. Inventions and IMAX are extra cost but worth it. Check their website for pricing. Inventions ends this week. Go early in the morning. The place was packed in the afternoon with strollers and cranky kiddos. Cafe offers nice variety of cold or hot local and organic choices you wouldn't expect for typical attraction pricing.
