This Discovery Place is as good as any anywhere, easy to navigate and something to engage all ages, from toddlers to the oldest people. I've been many times.
New exhibits are added all the time, but the permanent exhibits are worth visiting over and over.

Discovery Place gets great exhibits like Bodies and Mummies in their halls. I think it's a great cultural addition to Charlotte. My niece and nephew love running around playing with everything in the main area. They also have an IMAX theater, which is really cool and shows videos and even blockbuster movies like Transformers 2.

A great place to take the kids on a rainy day! Love the Imax! Also love the extra exhibits they bring in!

I have taken the kids here twice, exhibits were amazing but seems a bit pricey.

I would say that a day at discovery place is definitely worth it if you have small children. There are lots of displays and hands-on activities for them to experience. The entire second floor is filled with attractions for them to experience. The only thing I noticed was that the attractions were in need of maintenance. For example, a display that taught kids about mechanical advantage was pretty worn out, and another that allowed them to experience construction activities was missing a significant number of pieces (and an adult was napping under the rest). Still, I think this is a worthwhile place to spend with younger children. Depending on what day you go, you may experience long lines at the ticket counter. I have never taken my family to the special attractions (example: Mummies), because I feel they are too expensive.
