We traveled to be with friends for a ministry event and had a wonderful surprise when we checked into the hotel! Clean and nicely decorated lobby, nice room with a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and lovely help. The breakfast was amble and satisfying even for a diabetic! Can't wait for our next trip.

My husband and I were in Charlotte to visit relatives just after Christmas. We stay in Hampton Inn on most hotel trips. The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful, but this HI is very dated.

The night coffee was cold in the lobby. The coke machine did not work on 3 floors..later, the lady from the front desk located a coke for us. There was only one light switch in the restroom. Of course, I did not notice the light over the mirror was burned out until bedtime. They offered to switch rooms, but when we went to the new room, the neighbors were very loud and we decided to stay in the original room.

Breakfast was not the normal Hampton Breakfast..they did have breakfast sandwiches you could heat in the microwave.

This HI room was 1/3 smaller than normal. The bed was comfortable but the comforter was very lumpy. Still, the staff was very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is in a quiet area. I do not know where that would be.

Future visits to this site will probably be great- but currently, there is a massive remodel going on! The lobby was a disaster, check-ins were in a first floor room. B'fast was in a hallway. Not what we expected at all....

As all the Hamptons this one is good, the only issue while my stay is that it was under renovations, so there was no lobby, no dinning room, but people tried their best to make things easier. actually the lobby was inside of a room and breakfast are was in a type of 2 rooms.

My family and I were in town for a few night's stay for a funeral and called and made reservations. When we parked in the lot, my mom walked onto the curb to get out of the car and got stuck in wet cement, the area wasn't marked with a cone or anything. We were then caught off guard by seeing that we could not use the front lobby entrance. They had a small 8x11 sheet of copier paper saying, Please use side door. We went to the side of the building to find construction vehicles parked directly outside in the parking spaces that should be utilized for guests, not for construction workers convenience. When we got to the side door and walked in, there was another sign saying (on another 8x11 sheet of paper) Please go to room 114 for the front desk. So, we walked around the corner to find an employee sitting at a small desk in the opening of a door to a hotel room. I wish I had pictures of this set up...it was ridiculous for the guest checking in and the employees to work like this. During our stay the construction guys were sitting in the couple of chairs that were near the elevators, there was only 1 elevator of the 2 that worked because construction was being done on the other which they then were painting and didn't have a fan/exhaust system running and the fumes were terrible! The hotel employees seemed pleasant, our room was clean, however, the ceiling and walls were beat up, nail heads poking through everywhere and patch jobs galore. According to the front desk clerk when I arrived, she said that the rooms were renovated...if our room was renovated the bathroom was definitely missed, along with measured pencil marks on the wall beneath a picture, and a lack of accessible wall outlets in the bedroom area. I kept wondering if we got a room that wasn't as nice because I used my AAA discount. There is a 4 outlet unit for you to plug things in on the nightstand. If it weren't for the circumstance we were in for our stay, I would've gone to one of the other hotels that were within walking distance. This place was a disappointment, especially for a Hampton Inn.

The hotel is going through a remodel and they are having trouble preparing for guests. My room did not have adequate linens and the front desk had a long line fielding similar problems. Hopefully, once the remodel is complete they will rise to the high standards of a Hampton Inn.

Dear Guest,

We appreciate your feedback regarding your stay with us. I do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced as during the renovation we are limited in available space for guest check-in. As for the linen situation I will share this with the appropriate manager to address accordingly. Our renovations are in the final stage and will be completed within the week. Upon completion we will have a new lobby and breakfast area along with renovated guest rooms. We thank you for your business and hope that you will give us the opportunity to host you as our guest should you return to the Charlotte area.

The hotel lobby is being reconstructed, but that doesn't excuse the lack of signage at the check-in area to indicate that hotel room 114 with a bed and all is the front desk, nor does it excuse the front desk personnel from passing you 3 times without even acknowledging you were in line prior to coming back to get your room key. It also does not excuse the huge stains on the carpet in the room.
