My wife and I are from Columbia, SC and had an early morning flight. Rather than get up in the wee hours of the morning and drive to Charlotte we spent the night before at the Hyatt Place. Glad we did. Very nice hotel, close to the Charlotte airport. Comfortable beds. Quiet setting.Very friendly staff. Free shuttle service to and from the airport and adjoining businesses. Would definitely stay here in the future when flying in or out of the Charlotte airport.

My kids and I were passing through and needed a place to stay in Charlotte and booked here after reading other reviews. The hotel is very nice and clean. We made use of the gym which is small with 2 treadmills, a bike and an elliptical but the equipment worked well. Breakfast in the morning was nice. My only complaint is that we were close to ice machine and it was really noisy.

We switched it up, staying at this HP versus the City Park HP just down the road. This HP falls a tad short of the CIty Park HP. It is the older style HP which isn't very much different, except that the ice machines are not away from the rooms (so don't get the room outside the ice machine), the fitness center is four cadio machines (versus the larger and more well equipped fitness center at City Park), Older style isn't bad though, it is still clean and well maintained. The aircraft noise is more pronounced at this HP vs. City Park. The A/C (wall unit) is loud, as will all HP's I think. However, this HP has a new stip mall in front of it, with a variety of choices, although they close early. As with most HP's, they only have 2 double (no queen) beds.

Room Tip: Don't get the room across from ice machines, at one end of the hallway.

We have stayed here a couple of times. Its a great location that is close to the airport, short drive to uptown, etc. Next to it is a small mall that offers a number of restaurants - which is in walking distance. It is in a safe area of Charlotte.
Our room has always been consistent - suite style with a living area and a partitioned off bedroom. 42" flat screen tv, mini fridge, free wi-fi, coffee maker, and a glass door shower. The living area offered a sleeper sectional and large cocktail ottoman. You really feel at home here.
A tip to offer, if you are not already a Hyatt Gold Member sign up before you book your room. The service seemed that much extra better.

Our family of four had to overnight in Charlotte. After reading reviews, we deemed this hotel acceptable. We stay overnight at lots of airports. All we need is a nice quiet, clean room.

We were unable to find a courtesy phone at the airport, so we called the hotel. They said it would be 20 minutes for them to get there. Tired as we were, we took a taxi to the hotel.

The hotel was certainly clean enough and the reception was fine although the lady on duty was also selling food in the area next to checkin. It was fast enough, however, and we headed up to our rooms. They were nicely sized and comfortable.

Our main issue was how loud the air conditioning was at night. A fan would go off, then in a few minutes an even louder noise came from the unit. This happened in both our rooms.

Breakfast was nice the next morning, and we had no problem with the shuttle returning to the airport.

I would not recommend this hotel simply because of the noise from the air conditioner.
