“Good in a pinch”

I was caught off guard by the snow storm and was able to get a room at this hotel. They were swamped and still were very courteous. Service was good by everyone except the person that checked me out - I think his name was Brody or something like that. The room was good (carpets need to be cleaned). Overall my stay there was good. In a pinch I would stay there again. They had my points in the system but they did not show up on my final receipt. I have to follow up to make sure I got credit.

I was here during the ice storm and the staff was so uncaring and apathetic to all the problems the storm caused. Breakfast was terrible and my room smelt like smoke.
When I tried to ask some questions, the staff sat on the computer and would not help me until the 'shift ' changed.

We checked into a spacious, spotlessly clean and well stocked room. Tim, the manager personally attends to his guests with a great attitude and friendly smile. Kam makes certain the free hot breakfast bar is fresh and has plentiful selections for every diet. Brody, the front desk clerk is proficient at anticipating guests needs. Brody has a "can do" attitude and is always willing and able to help a guest. Zainab, of housekeeping, diligently works to give us a daily clean and fresh room.
The entire staff of Quality Inn is proficient in every one of their jobs. They always spoil us!

Room Tip: Inner rooms are nearer to the ice machine and exercise room.

Booked this hotel through Hotwire for a recent business trip to UNC. The price was VERY reasonable once we got to the hotel. Was able to check in hours before check in time and the staff was very helpful in changing the room type to accomodate two beds. The room was recently updated and the beds were amazingly comfortable. It was quiet although we were located on the first floor near the parking lot. In the morning, the continental breakfast was a welcome addition, they offered a friendly host, yummy waffles, sausage biscuits, cereal, bagels, yogurt, etc. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!

Room Tip: The non-smoking rooms are great, anything on the first floor may have a little parking lot noise.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, everything works. Friendly people, easy check in, check out. Plenty of parking. Small breakfast, good coffee. Close to supermarket, drug store, UNC and starbucks. No complaints, will come back. Good value.

Room Tip: Do not take the room next to the staff, laundry room.

We were very pleased to get a room that suited three senior women having a king bed and a pull out bed. But what we found under the pullout bed in both rooms was trash and dirt. Since we had to make the bed ourselves it was quite obvious that that area had not been cleaned in a very long time. The carpet was nearly black and there was popcorn, papers and other three dimensional pieces of trash under it.

In our original room the toilet did not work properly and the maintenance man fixed it by giving us a plunger which was not what I liked doing since paper and fecal matter were always present in the toilet bowl. Obviously this toilet needed a plumber because of what was going on. We were all afraid to use it for fear of it overflowing. One morning we left it with clear water and came back to more paper and fecal matter as if someone had used it while we were gone. This time when flushed it overflowed and ran all over the floor into the main part of the room. I called and asked for a cleaner but were told there was no maintenance staff or cleaners on duty but they would move us to a different room. Moving us meant that we had to go get keys, move ourselves into the room next door which at least was convenient.

The hotel was good value and we were there because of an event and the use of the lobby for our meetings and all was nice. The breakfasts were good and staff cordial. But there was never any real apology or concern for the thing we had to put up with until they moved us. I was asked via internet to review the stay and got a form letter but no apology indicating they had read what I said. Most hotels would have gone out of their way to make this inconvenience and mess we had to put up with right with us. Mostly it seemed a real lack of concern. I was appalled, especially after taking the time to write to tell them of this problem.

We had no reservations, yet the friendly and efficient desk clerk checked us into our room plus reserved the adjoining room for our incoming guest, exactly where we wanted to be! Our rooms were clean, well stocked and had a refrigerator and microwave. They have a complimentary breakfast with fresh danish that was awesome! The light outside my room was blinking, so as I went to the ice machine, I reported the bulb to the office. As i returned with my ice, I noticed the bulb had been replaced and was properly working! This Quality Inn is on point! Also, the maintenance man had clocked out, yet stayed for hours to fix a guest's wheelchair on his own time! This hotel and it's excellent staff go above and beyond to assure each guest has the "perfect stay". The housekeeping staff is highly efficient and friendly. Even though the hotel is near main roads, the rooms are quiet so we slept like babies! The main lobby has coffee, decaf, and hot water for teas, and hot chocolate 24 hours a day! Last night they even had some yummy, fresh chocolate chip cookies. What a pleasant surprise this hotel is! The hotel is well maintained as are the grounds. It's conveniently located near fast food, shopping, and vehicle repair stores. Quality Inn is also close enough for the Chapel Hill Hospital appointments. This hotel has happy staff that enjoy helping guests, and truly want to make this your best stay ever! We wholeheartedly recommend staying here anytime! Due to the hard working and energetic staff, this is excellence at its best!
