Once again, I was not disappointed! I was greeted with genuine hospitality by every employee with whom I had contact. The room was immaculate, and I especially loved the bowl of fresh fruit and complimentary bottles of water in the room. The breakfast was delicious and the service was flawless. Everyone is so gracious and eager to make your stay a comfortable one. The Carolina Inn is consistent, and I appreciate their efforts to be environmentally conscious and sustainable.

Room Tip: I had a corner room, which was extremely spacious.

The Carolina Inn is a gem tucked away in the green folds of Chapel Hill. Not a glittering, hard gem, but one with a warm, comforting glow, softened with the passage of time.

This is a heritage property with a history that is proudly emblazoned on evey wall, nook and cranny. The beauty is that, even as the management has gone to great lengths to preserve the traditional decor, every modern convenience is available. Picture this: the Otis elevator has an old world dial to indicate the floors, the roller-top desk hides a Cuisine Art coffee maker, the old world medicine bottles in the bathroom contain shampoo and body lotion.....

Step in here and you are in the olde curiosity shop, with an ambience that is increasingly becoming hard to find. Four poster beds, table top trays on ottomans, small courtyards, yummy choc chip cookies on arrival.... the works. Yes, the rooms are small by modern standards, but not sure whether they take away from the comfort.

Great service, wonderful food and the best possible location to visit UNC.... you would be hard pressed to come home to a better 'inn'.

Stayed at hotel during Easter visit to children and grandchildren in area. Hotel is first rate and is in process of significant refurbishment. Standard room was a bit small. Easter brunch is memorable.

This is a lovely old world hotel. The staff are very polite and accommodating. I think the night we stayed we got the last available room in the hotel and it was extremely nice. The beds are wonderfully comfortable with excellent, good quality linens. The hotel breakfast was very good as were the waiters. The proximity to the Chapel Hill campus of UNC and to the town itself is great. We walked to restaurants, the art museum, the Carolina Performing Arts Center and the campus itself. It is a great place to stay.
