This was not only a wonderful Inn with very pleasant people, but full of wonderful facts about UNC. We were there to look at UNC but we were also there over Christmas. The displays were interesting and fun to explore. I would describe the Inn as elegant, family friendly and also informative.

If you want the best place to stay if you are visiting the University, the Carolina Inn is a great choice. The room in which we stayed had older decor but was very comfortable. The only problem was that both nights we woke in hot sweats. The hotel is on an energy saving plan of some sort and I could not control the temperature from our room. At one o'clock every morning it was EXTREMELY hot. Other than that, dinner was great and the staff friendly. Will stay again, but will make sure I can control the temp!

I have been to the Carolina Inn on several occassions for dinner as well as a private event. They staff always does a great job and the food is wonderful, both the restaurant and the banquet food. It is a beautiful location on the UNC campus and is great for a special occassion meal or event.

Since our son went to UNC-Chapel Hill, we have stayed at the Carolina Inn several times, especially when his a cappella group was performing in the fall and spring. Since his graduation in 2009, however, we have been infrequent guests. On our way from Memphis to my mother's house for Christmas, we decided to treat ourselves and called on Tuesday, Dec. 21 enroute. Inquiring about any special deals, my wife was treated with warmth and good humor by the reservation desk and was rewarded with a very special deal, a wonderful price for a queen single. We jumped at the opportunity. Arriving around 7:30 that night, we were reminded of what makes the Carolina Inn special. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday season; the receptionist was friendly and called a restaurant we were interested in trying to see whether they would have room for a couple. Though small, our room was tastefully redecorated and very comfortable with a newly redone bathroom. Tired after our 725-mile drive, we found the Carolina Inn the perfect cure. Though we didn't avail ourselves of the bar or the restaurant on this trip, we have always found the bar a welcome watering hole for either pre- or post-concert celebrations and the restaurant a special place to dine.

Thank you, Carolina Inn, for a welcome oasis for weary travelers.

As always a great place to stay. Here for overnight due to son's surgery. Very accommodating gave us a ground floor room due to his crutches. Even gave us special rate for this. Very nice staff.
