We stayed for 5 nights while home for Christmas and it was the perfect place for us. Having a full well equipped kitchen was great. The room was clean and spacious and the location was good for us. Since we were there over the Christmas holiday it was nice and quiet. The restaurant and lounge were closed, so we can't comment on them. Overall it was a great place and we'll go back again.

We stayed here for 10 nights with our son and had a suite with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The room was really well equipped with full sized fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, 2 ring hob and all the kitchen equipment needed. The hotel also had a laundry room with plenty of machines. The gym was a good size, unfortunately the outside pool and jacuzzi weren't open but the weather was too cold to use on most days.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good neighbourhood. Close to shops and restaurants, being America you have to drive but we did find a footpath in front of the hotel that led to shops and restaurants.

The only downside was that the hotel decor seemed a little tired and in need of an update but it was clean.

We just had our third visit to this hotel and I must say it has NEVER disappointed us. We have a child at UNC and whenever we stay overnight we do our best to get a room here. The reasons are many, first it's very convenient to UNC and shopping and dining as well. Second, and to me most importantly, the rooms are spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We just stayed in a king suite and there were 2 tv's nice kitchen, bath etc. Each and every time we have checked in we have been greeted very warmly and made to feel that they are really glad we are staying with them. As others have mentioned, their "store" has a nice selection of snacks, beers and reasonably priced wines. They always have coffee in the lobbey too. We never get up early enough to enjoy the free breakfast but I have never read a bad review of their food so I have complete confidence that it's very good. The rooms however are great, very quiet, not soundproof, but amongst the best I have experienced. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!! If you are in the area , definitely worth it!!

We stayed here for a week and a majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our first room had a VERY noisy neighbor throughout the late hours of the night. and the next morning we complained to the desk and they suggested they would move us to another room. We loaded up a luggage cart with our belongings and when we returned later in the day they had us in a new much quieter room. The rooms are very clean and well furnished with dishes and cooking utensils. We ended up cooking a couple meals in and it was a welcome treat from eating out so many days in a row. We had a semi-suite room which was well designed
Most of the breakfast staff was not overly friendly, but the food was hot and fresh and plenty of it. The evening managers reception was staffed by a less than friendly host who was not at all good at replenishing the food items. The last night there, he just plain disappeared so no drinks and the food all gone. One very positive note is they use real dishes and utensils so not filling the landfills up with styrofoam!!
The front desk staff was always very helpful & friendly, and would definitely stay again if in the area.

We stayed here while my husband was having several procedures done at UNC hospitals, and the staff could not have been more helpful! The night staff on the front desk were particularly wonderful, going above and beyond to be sure we had what we needed to keep him comfortable!

The rooms are quite comfortable, and I love having a full frig. There is a cook top and microwave and coffee maker - no oven. Decent selection of pots and pans and dishes.

We had asked for, and gotten, a room right near the entrance. The hotel is oddly arranged to my mind, with only one elevator - and it is in the middle of the middle building, NOT near any of the entrances. So if you are handicapped this is a VERY tricky place to stay! Unless you really are up to walking decent distances insist on ground floor near an entrance to a parking area. The downside to that is you WILL hear noise as folks come in and out and go up the stairs. If you are up to more walking, most of the handicapped rooms are, interestingly enough, mid-way down the halls - so you have to walk in to the elevator, then a good distance to your room. then to leave or go to breakfast retrace your steps plus walk to the lobby, which is a separate building although connected to one wing of rooms.

The breakfast is pretty decent and about what you would expect for this type of place, and is included - a big plus. They also have a small "restaurant" in the same area that serves food at night, and offers room service. We were a bit skeptical, but it actually made huge and quite good burgers and fries! Some week nights there is apparently a manager's reception.

This property takes pets, which is part of why we chose it. Warning though- there is a $100 non-refundable pet fee! Just be aware of this up front. They give you a magnet to go on your door to indicate there is four-legged "guest". The only problem is some of the housekeeping staff are not native English speakers, and don't seem to know what this means. One morning the housekeeper propped the door open, even though my daughter asked her to wait until she could get the harness and leash on our cat safely. BIG problem! I did discuss it with management, and they made sure the housekeepers for the rest of our stay new to check with us before propping the door open. I have not had this problem at other Residence Inns, or at this one before...so maybe it was a new person.

There is also (in season) a pool, putting green, and two outdoor grills, plus an outdoor firepit.

Plenty of parking, very safe location, and easy access to UNC, Chapel Hill, Durham, Duke, and the interstate.

If you don't want to try room service, look up Tarheel Takeout online - they will deliver right to your room from a range of Chapel Hill restaurants. Great folks!

Room Tip: Note the elevators are NOT near the entrances - be aware if you are handicapped that a handicapped r...

This hotel was a standard Residence Inn. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast had some variety each day and included muffins, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, belgian waffles and rotating hot dishes such as chipped beef w/biscuits, french toast and scrambled eggs and sausage. Rooms were clean. Hotel was quiet. Toiletries were higher-end brands such as Paul Mitchell and Tea Tree.

Room Tip: Some of the buildings do not have indoor connections to the main building (lobby and breakfast area...

This was our 3rd stay at the Residence Inn Chapel Hill. Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and good location just off I 40. Close to restaurants and shopping. Streets at Southpoint about 5 mins away. Close to UNC Chapel Hill and Franklin St. Would definitely stay again!
