Really enjoyed my visit here. Nice range of artwork, including special exhibitions - I saw a very interesting exhibit of Japanese work. the wonderful museum store is really terrific, especially if you are looking for gifts.

We saw a southeast Asian art exhibit at the Ackland that was wonderfully arranged. The small size of the museum and the fact that in the summer it is practically deserted allowed us to see the exhibits at leisure. Parking can be a bit of an issue but that is typical for Chapel Hill. Make sure to check for special exhibits before you go.

This is a gem of an art museum, great for families and individuals or couples. As the UNC art museum it includes educational exhibitions as well as general exhibitions. Extremely well organized and presented - a true jewel that you should not miss!

I was surprised at how small the collection is. From the outside it looks like the kind of place you could spend an hour or two browsing but with only 2 galleries open, and with uninteresting works on display, it was hard to spend more than 30 minutes there.

There is always something interesting to see at the Ackland. It is a small museum with several rooms, both upstairs and down - good collections.
