Visit the old well...skip the rest and head for Franklin St. Lots of good places to eat and drink.

We parked our car at E Rosemary/Henderson St intersection as the parking near Morehead Planetarium was full. It was a comfortable walk from parking to the UNC campus. Franklin St was very lively..It was a bright sunny day perfect for being outside. We walked around the campus, checked out the Morehead Science Center first, You can get the maps and other useful brochures from Morehead Planetarium building. There was a science demonstration going on for kids which I though was cool. We then visited Coker Arboretum, Sundial (which has a small but beautiful rose garden). Kenan Memorial Stadium was closed but we took some pictures of the outside there. We were lucky to catch a Women's Soccer game at the Fetzer field too. We also made a stop at the Davis Library and were amazed at the size of it.

We were able to spend 3-4 hours walking around in and around the campus, taking pictures and it was a afternoon well spent.

It's a fabulous campus - a world all of its own - you just get sucked into the whole campus atmosphere - my advice is to just walk and walk and walk and soak it all up

It was a little bit spread out ("so, is it on the Upper Campus? or the Lower Campus??"), but walkable and so pretty. The campus lies on gently rolling hills and there is a lot of grass and the buildings are largely brick.

Loved how they are building a campus and keeping as much of the surrounding trees and greenery in place.
