“Good comfort food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

We visit this restaurant about every other month. The pho is excellent. The restaurant is set up in such a way you queue, eat and leave very quickly. It certainly is not a romantic setting but if you want some comforting food served simply this is the place.

“Really great!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

I've been on the hunt for a good place to get a specific Vietnamese dish since moving here, and I finally found it at a restaurant that does it well! Lime and Basil is a smallish ,restaurant with a lean staff, but everyone is very friendly and helpful. They have a great menu and their Saigon Street Noodles are phenomenal, as is the bubble tea. Our food came out quickly, the portions were ample, and we were happy and comfortable. It's also worth noting that this is one of the most affordable Asian restaurants on Franklin Street, and I'm in love with it!

“Fantastic Pho!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

My husband and my son ate here while visiting UNC, and the food was wonderful! The pho was well seasoned and reasonably priced. Although it lacked spice for me, they had a chili paste that worked well as a flavor additive. They also have a decent fried rice dish, and tasty spring rolls. Although the location and decor weren't too impressive, the speedy service and modest prices are definitely sufficient enough to make us want to visit Lime & Basil again if we are ever back in the area.

A word to the wise-- The restaurant tends to get crowded as it opens back up for dinner- try and go as early as possible for optimum seating and service.

“BUT WHERE IS THE BROWN RICE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Whenever I come to CH I eat here my first night. It is very good Vietnamese food at a reasonable price. The service is generally good and the food prepared well. Portions are a bit small, but Americans need to eat less anyway. My one gripe - and I tell the staff there ever time- is that there is no brown rice. I live in NY and there is a choice for brown/white rice at almost every Asian restaurant these days. It is simply the right thing to do to give patrons the choice to eat healthy meals while they are out. So Lime and Basil, please add Brown Rice choice to the menu. And anyone reading this- when you go to L & B, please suggest they do the same. There is strength in numbers.

“Only Bubble Tea in town!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

While I didn't try the food, I was highly impressed by their decor and staff, as well as the menu, that they deserve another good review. The hours are different and it's in a small place, but the friendly and fast staff were charmers that made the wait worth it. The bubble tea is certainly the thing to get---just know they won't mix flavors but the single flavors, especially the coconut, are scrumptious and cold.
