“Excellent & Creative menu with top notch taste”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

Our lunch experience at the Weathervane leaves us wanting more! We love all of the local ingredients highlighted, but most of all, love how they taste when used in appetizers & entrees. It was difficult to choose between such wonderful sandwiches and other entrees for lunch. Even the cocktails were impressive. The service was not lacking. We were well attended to in the bar area before the main dining room opened for lunch.

Being able to step right out into the store, Southern Season, was super convenient and fun. But that will have to be a separate review.

I can't wait to return!

“Wedding and reception”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

I got married on March 16, 2013 and we had our wedding and reception at the Weathervane. We were very pleased and happy with our service. Our wedding was on the patio of the restaurant and it turned out beautiful and our reception was upstair in the Mezz room. Our dinner was excellant and the service was great. I would recommend the Weathervane for your wedding and reception. Our wedding was small and it was very reasonable. The event planner was wonderful help me with all the details and I can't say enough good things about her and the restaurant.

“Innovative and fresh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

Went for Easter brunch and weeknight dinner. Dinner better than brunch. Brunch wait service a bit scattered even though we were only one of three tables at a 10:30 seating.
That being said, the entrees are innovative and showcase local ingredients. Sweet potato and apple soup was the optimum blend of sweet and tart; grilled chicken bruschetta not as innovative-really an open face sandwich; shrimp and grits excellent; sweet tea salmon exceptional.

“Food is tasty but restaurant decor is nothing to write home about”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

The food is tasty and good selection and good wine list. However, the restaurant (apart from the bar) decor is very average. We took our European friends for a lunch in August and it was very pleasant because we were able to sit outside. A change of decor is needed and more elegant tables and chairs as well as flowers are needed to give it a fun and attractive restaurant, and not just a run-of-the mill decor.

“Grocery Store Gourmet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

The Weathervane is a bistro style restaurant and bar associated with the "Southern Season" Grocery Store. Don't expect a bland atmosphere or cookie-cutter sandwiches though. This place has a beautiful decor and atmosphere and comfortable seating - and great food. I went there a few days ago for my 3rd visit. Loved the "Artisan Grilled Cheese."
