“Great little gem in Chapel Hill”
Reviewed February 24, 2012

Establishing next to a laundromat takes guts! Worth the wait, the owner greets you and makes sure you're taken care of. Good food, good atmosphere and great service

“Superb meal”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

We were 7 diners, so were able to reserve a table in this small family owned "bistro".We ordered a large variety of dishes, all of which were excellent, and the service was prompt and helpful. Unfortunately, the noise level was such that it was impossible to conduct an intelligible conversation. This problem could probably be resolved with some heavy curtains and/or acoustical tiles, then I would rate the restaurant 5 star.

“Best Mussel's in town”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Great mussel's and always good food in a convivial but slighly noisy bistro atmosphere.

“Cozy restaurant, tasty food.”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Ate here for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago with some friends. The restaurant is cozy and the staff welcoming. Two of us split the chopped salad cold appetizer which was excellent. The flounder, one of the specials for the evening, sounded delicious but unfortunately they ran out of flounder just as my order was placed. I chose one of their signature mussels dishes, the mariniere, which was good but both the mussels and their excellent signature "kitchen" fries cooled too quickly due to the cool air temperatures in the restaurant. One of my friends had the chicken riesling which was excellent. They have a nice variety of beer and wine available. I appreciate their use of available local ingredients. I will definitely return here.

“Terrific but Too Small”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Kitchen is a generally French restaurant that offers high quality food at very attractive prices. The dishes are mostly classic bistro type fare. The food is well prepared, fresh, and very tasty. The service friendly and professional and the owner is usually there to make sure that things are running smoothly. The prices for both food and wine are very moderate, making this a very good value. The only drawback; the place is small and, coupled with the fact that they don't take reservations for parties under six, it can be tough to get a table during prime time -- 6:30 - to 7:30 or so (and they don't have a really good place to wait). We enjoy it, recommend it, and hope they expand.
