“very unique, delicious food and nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

My husband and three grown children and I had dinner last night at Chez DuPont and we all thought it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten at any restaurant. Since the menu changes every night or so, based on available fresh items, we each chose a different entree and a different soup, so we sampled just about everything on the menu. The soups were fantastic- we had a salmon & seafood chowder, a thick, chunky tomato-basil, and a gazpacho that my daughter said was fantastic. The main courses were equally as delicious- I had a pork tenderloin that had boursin cheese, olives, blueberries, spinach, potatoes, onions in an incredible sauce- it was very inventive and unbelievably good. We also had a delicious beef stew, a wonderful pasta bolognese, and a BLT sandwich with loads of bacon and very ripe juicy tomatoes and fries. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, and we did enjoy the background music. Pecan Pie and Oatmeal raisin cookies with sorbet topped it all off. We will go again before we leave Cashiers!

“Visit once and you will return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

Just opened in March 2014 and well deserving of repeat visits. A light Sunday dinner with superb scallop, smoked salmon chowder, watermelon gazpacho and while we usually avoid dessert we had splendid chef baked cheese cake and pecan pie. staff excellent. Chef owned by Chef DuPont.Already planning a return visit with friends later this week. Perhaps next time we will have a proper dinner, for example grilled pork tenderloin or bolognaisse.

“Hardest Working Chef...Old School”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2014

We spent two nights in Cashiers just to eat here...

I am biased and Chris is a friend of mine but I did meet him in the food industry. He was working as a chef in a Highlands NC restaurant.

We have followed him on his journey.

He just opened his own place in Cashiers, NC.

All I need to say is go here eat! He’s is well trained and old school and works harder then anyone I have ever seen.

Everything is excellent.

“Jewel hiding in a small town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

This little restaurant was an awesome find for us. Early spring and just a few weeks after opening, we spent a lovely evening sharing a signature Alsacian dish of pork, potatoes and sauerkraut! Accompanied by a goat-cheese and fig appetizer and a bottle of chilled "just plain water" with a sprig of mint, the meal was more than enough for both of us.

The ambience is welcoming and friendly. It was spring, and when we arrived, an open door welcomed us into a softly lighted dining room. The owner/chef personally greeted us and made us feel more than welcome.

At the bottom of the menu is a notation -- TTC (Trust the Chef). I recommend diners do just that and they will not be disappointed.
