“Chef Boyardee Wins in Comparison Taste Test”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

Chef Bayardee kicks tail on their $10 lasagne. Sad but true. I even had to send the slop back because it was cold in the middle. The $11 twelve inch pepperoni pizza faired no better. I swear I have had much better grocery store frozen pizza with twice the pepperoni on it. I had to ask for salt and parmesan (not on the tables or in sight) and even lids for the sodas you fill yourself at the fountain. So lets see.......Food: sucks, Service: sucks, Amenities: sucks, Atmosphere: sucks. So I guess when you get right down to it, Amantes "Gourmet" Pizza just really sucks.

“Pizza not too bad, not too great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

Overall:
Tried their pizza for the second time last night and find it, just like the title says, good, just not great. If you live nearby and want something close that's not a national chain, I'd certainly recommend it.

The Good:
Crust, sauce, cheese, and spicy Italian sausage all are good. The service is excellent, very pleasant, seem like they really care about the customer, ie, good mgmt. Atmosphere is very good, not over the top by any means but certainly nicer than your typical "strip center" restaurant, with nice, ambient lighting and some brick accent walls.

The Not So Good:
The garlic chicken topping was pretty bland, and the fresh basil was sliced skinny and very minimal, might as well not bothered putting any on there in the first place, and this after I specifically asked the gal to have them watch out for that since I'd experienced that very same thing the first time. IE, fool me once, perhaps twice, but there won't be a third time. The pricing was a bit stiff, especially given our ratings, $18.75 for a 4-topping create-your-own large, which I had to do since they didn't have a traditional supreme.
