Atmosphere was acceptable. Choose a booth over a table because of the ambiente noise in the restaurant. Brunch was an excellent value and the service was more than adequate. Omelettes were well executed, red beans and rice and gumbo were delivered as expected. The best dish was the black bean cakes with collards. Southern Gourmet par excellence.

Wife and I split one of their seasonal specials, the Cajun Spiced Pork Loin Chops with spicy Voodoo Sauce and local goat cheese, and we loved it. The Voodoo sauce is really, really good - very nicely spicy (and I love hot stuff), while just a little sweet. Neither of us are goat cheese fans but thought, wow, it really worked on this dish and opened our palates to new things. The chops were pretty thin, and wife thought was pretty tough, which while fairly true was offset for me by the yumsterness.

The mashed potatoes were very good, rustic with the peel right in there, a little bit chunky and not overly creamy by any means. Wife tried the whipped sweet potatoes and said they were sort of odd tasting, and she eats a lot of 'em so should know. She absolutely loved the fried grit cake, which is really quite large, pretty thick, but it wasn't quite my thing.

Their seasonal white chocolate banana bread pudding while very good, lots of flavor, missed the mark a touch for us. We both like our bread pudding, well, more bready, but this was a much softer, more condensed consistency. Many others may love it, really high quality stuff, just not "our" cup of tea.

Very nice decor and ambience, definitely not a kids joint but a nice couples or friends place.

I frequently choose Lucky 32 for lunch with a friend because the menu is so interesting, the food is good, parking is ample, service is great, and seating is good. Years ago, the staff at Lucky's used to rush us when we were dining, as if they were trying to sell the table again quickly, using maneuvers like bringing our entrees while we were only halfway through our starters or salads (even to the point where there was no room on the table to put the plates if we had a large group), or trying to take our salads away before we were half done. We complained about this numerous times, and they seem to be better about it now.

You'll love the seasonal fare that changes often enough to keep things exciting, but we also like some of the reliable standards, like the salt and pepper ribeye with Texas Pete onion strings, the burgers, the Southern Crescent chicken sandwich, and the cobb salad.

One one visit their collards were too heavily spiced, but on the other visits they were fine. There are numerous of sides, with a country Sunday dinner attitude we like. We love Lucky's.

Our recent visit was our 4th trip to Lucky 32. This is the place to take someone for original, authentic Southern cooking. But don't expect eggs and grits. The atmosphere is very upscale and the meals are very sophisticated. We have had different wait staff on each visit and each has been charming, accommodating and most professional.
One of our favorite features of this restaurant is the ambience. In today's rehab, stark, exposed elements world of restaurant decor, Lucky 32 is quiet, private and easy to relax in. The music is not loud, conversation is easy and you don't hear the click and clatter of every noise in the house. In addition, they have a wonderful privacy outdoor area for dining as well.

Love Lucky 32! Love the local and seasonal food concept. Everything I have had there has been excellent, though I am partial to there burger and fries. A place that can do a good burger is a true winner for me.
