We booked a regular room and not a suite and were astonished at how tiny the room was. We thought we would save twenty bucks a night and just get the regular room since we would not be cooking or spending much time in the room. We were 2 adults and we were in town visiting family. There were many good things about this stay and a few kinks.
The location in an office park was a nice environment where you could go out for a run in the morning. It's right behind a Siemens training office so I imagine it is used by business people a lot. Ample free parking and a great breakfast with decent coffee! The breakfast ladies and front desk folks were very nice. Lots of room to sit and eat your breakfast both inside and outside. The pool area looked great! The downside of our room being so close to this sitting area (3rd floor, one above lobby, right behind the elevator, facing the pool) was that people were out there visiting and carrying on late into the night. One night we were wakened about 2 am by raucous laughter and conversation. The management should lock up this outside area after a reasonable time, like maybe midnight.
The room itself was very clean but only had one easy chair and a bath area so incredibly tiny! Only one person can stand in front of the sink. NO place to hang a hand towel here. The light switch to the toilet / shower room was outside the room by the sink and the celling in there was only 7' tall. Shower head does not move. Barely room to stand and dry off and the door just cleared the toilet by a smidge. The towel rack has your towel hanging all the way down to the seat of the toilet. The big picture in the bathroom needs to go. The walking area between the foot of the bed and the dresser would be a problem for a larger person. When the covers slide off the bed as they always do, it takes up this whole space. The dresser / desk was very high , like a stand up desk. There was , however, a roll out table that could be pulled out for eating on or working at while seated.
For the forgotten stuff, there was a nice little store by the front desk for essentials and food.
This hotel, like most others, does not have electrical plugs next to the bed! People want their devices charging next to the bed - not across the room!
The bed was just okay quality and the sheets were kind of coarse. Between that and the noisy guests not the best nights of sleep I've had. But we liked the overall environment and cleanliness, the rate was fair, so I give it a very good. Breakfast and the cooks/servers get 5 stars! Next time we might not stay here as it is on the far side of Cary - closer to Apex than to Raleigh.
