My wife and I love old fashioned, beach-style seafood. Fresh shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops, you name it. No heavy spices ... light breading ... fried in a way that lets you taste the seafood. Bowman's offers a wide variety, and a freshness as if just pulled from the sea. Of late, it has been more and more difficult to find simple seafood. We all know that fancy preparations justifies in the mind of some a higher price, and higher prices are a necessity to survive in tough economic times, but Bowman's beats the trend, The location is convenient, but this restaurant is not about "eating out over the water," or water views. It is about food. Great beach seafood, in good quantity, and a fair price. Go.

The food was obviously days old and reheated. The oyster stew tasted like water, beef stew as so old the texture was like powder almost and it had a very strange color. My sons chicken fingers were obviously frozen and were brittle dry. The waitress apologized and said she didn't do it. Also she was very opinionated and almost rude. We have all had stomach issues since. Would not recommend and we eat out quite often and very rarely find a need to leave a bad review about a place but this was an exception.

Wonderful fried seafood (light breading and fresh caught), BUT they also have great seafood cooked other styles. If fried isn't your stomach's pleasure don't let it stop you from visiting this establishment for an excellent meal. Food very fresh, hot and delicious. Staff is great. Always a winner.

Came highly recommended. I can only eat so much fried food at a sitting so it was kindof overload and I did takeout which probably didn't lend much to the texture of things. I had flounder. It was good. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I'm sure this is terrific for families. Ambiance in the restaurant just fine. I would not do takeout there. Go and dine in. My best advice.

The fry is light.... and you certainly get plenty. The Hush Puppies are excellent. The sweet tea is really good too
