All the seafood at this restaurant is steamed, baked, grilled or broiled no fried foods. We had the coconut shrimp it was amazing. We also had the peel and eat shrimp appetizer with old bay seasoning. All tasted fresh and well seasoned. Next time in this area we will be back. Drinks were good too!

This was my first trip to Michael's Seafood and to Carolina Beach. I saw it advertised a lot and the outside looked great. The feel inside was nice, clean and friendly. They offer "The Admiral's Feast" which has some of everthing for everyone to be able to taste if you are not sure if you like some of the offerings of seafood. There is a bar with some tv screens to watch the game. The food seemed like it was not "Fresh" and you'd expect it to be with the ocean and cape fear river being so very close. It seems like a very busy place but the food isn't the draw. It was bland a little and not fresh. It was a little expensive, but not in comparison to many seafood restaurants. We will probably not be back when in this area, unless maybe for a drink to watch the game.

Anything but spectacular. Lacked flavor, everything overcooked. Even the chowder everyone raves about was terrible - too thick and dry with a burnt flavor. Nothing fried - not even for toddlers!! Plain bread served with meals. Big let down after all they hype. Will not return.

I was surprised the food here was just average because the parking lot was always packed, but then again it's located in a strip mall, so it might've been deceiving. I ordered the mini-crabcakes which lacked flavor and were somewhat dry. My husband ordered the salmon which was fine, but nothing spectacular. The chowder soup was pretty tasty and ended up being the highlight. The bartender was not as attentive as I thought he should be. I would probably give this place another try but I can't give it a big thumbs up right now.
