“Not Really a Boardwalk”

Carolina Beach Boardwalk

If you have ever been to a real boardwalk - say in NJ or Maryland - don't bother with this concrete block with an old arcade and a few old rides. The beach itself is lovely but the boardwalk was a BOREDwalk.

This area is not on the beach like a traditional boardwalk, it's on the other side of the dunes. It's made up of a bunch of little buildings with shops, snacks, and an arcade. There are also carnival type rides for the kids. The buildings were a little aged, and it wasn't as clean as other areas of the beach. We went for the fireworks, which were spectacular! This area is geared towards kids (which we were not traveling with), so besides the food, didn't appeal to us.

We've been coming to the CB Boardwalk for years. We decided to take the kids to play Mini Golf and I could not believe my eyes. 3 Kids on skateboards were dangerously riding along the sidewalk and I counted 4 times that the skateboard took flight and almost hit nearby small children walking by. Then another skateboarder sent his skateboard flying into the air and landing inside the entrance of Hurricane Alley where a couple got hit! Where is CB law enforcement??? I've got nothing against skateboading, in the right enviorment. But putting children in danger whom are just trying to enjoy a nice night out is just stupid!

Typical Carny fair. Britt's doughnuts were highly recommended but most of the family were like "eh". A little sketchy after dark. Fireworks on Thursday nights were nice for the kids. Wish it was kept up a little better.
