This was a wonderful hotel for the price that we paid. We stopped here on New Year's Eve to ring in the New Year at Carolina Beach. It's a convenient walking distance from the boardwalk and pier, which prevents any sort of drunken driving on New Year's. But it wasn't right on the beach, which meant it was quieter and it was actually possible to go to bed without ruckus around us.
Some of the drawbacks: our two-queen suite had a fridge but no microwave. Luckily, there is a microwave downstairs in the breakfast area that we could use. Also, the towels we had were dirty at the outset. But the staff were really accommodating and gave us new towels. Breakfast starts ungodly early at 6:30 and ends at 9:30. Especially for those of us who were celebrating New Years Eve, it seemed very silly to still maintain those breakfast times. I don't believe but 2 or 3 people made it to breakfast, and even that was at the tail end of it.
The staff at the hotel were very sweet, though. Cherie was especially wonderful and welcomed us with a warm smile.
Overall, in comparison with other motels around the area, this is a great bang for your buck [we used Room Savers].
