“Sticky tables!”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

We ate at Ocean Grill our very first night in Carolina Beach. When we were seated, upstairs with a great view of the beach and pier, we both noticed the table was quite sticky, but we didn't say anything. The place was rather quiet, being past the tourist season, but our waitress was delightful, attentive, and good at what she does. We started the meal with the Calamari, which was really good and came with a honey/balsamic sauce....Ah, now we understood the sticky table! For our main course, I had the "Calabash", which was rather unimpressive....no seasoning in the batter. Husband had the Flounder Sandwich, and he said it was good. This is a very nice place, but the food was nothing outstanding. The next day our in-laws ate there for lunch (not knowing we had been there the night before) and they told us the table they sat at was sticky as well!

“Our favorite restaurant this trip”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We were in town for three days and had a number of very good meals, but thought this was the best. Our visit to OG&TB was quite long as we started out with drinks on the deck of the Tiki Bar, then moved inside for dinner. (MY wife especially enjoyed her Ocean Grill salad with pecans & dried cherries.) Leaving the restaurant, we got caught up in a baseball game on the bar TV and stayed there for an after dinner drink.

“Had drinks outside on the pier overlooking the beach”
Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

After a long walk down the beach this is exactly what we were looking for. We went through the restaurant out to the bar on their private pier. It had the usually fruity cocktails & a short bar menu. I had the snow crab appetizer which filled me up. Will return here again for drinks with a gorgeous view.

“A bit overpriced.”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

My family and I decided to eat at the Ocean Grill after looking at the menu. It was about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, the Courtyard Marriott Carolina Beach. We were promptly greeted and seated at a table upstairs. Being that it was already dark, the view wasn't much to look at, but the ambiance was nice.
We ordered a couple of Painkillers and waited about 15 minutes for them to arrive. We were thirsty! Our waiter apologized and told us that he couldn't find the Meyer's Rum! The drinks were definitely worth the wait. We ordered the calamari to start. They were fresh and delicious! The dipping sauce was excellent. It wasn't creamy as usual, but sweet and spicy. YUM! Our waiter suggested a local IPA on tap, which went great with my meal. I ordered the Flounder, Calabash Style. You could tell that it was fresh, and fried with the skin on. It was served with french fries, which I barely touched because the fish portion was huge!
Other than the prices being a bit high, I would definitely return to the Ocean Grill. I would probably go during the day to enjoy the view!

“Ocean View with Great Taste”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Our first stop in Carolina Beach cuisine was to the Ocean Grill and we were not disappointed with our selections! Appetizers of calamari and peel and eat shrimp were oversized and delightfully tasty especially with the Old Bay on the shrimp. Entrees were large and just as tasty! We did not go to the Tiki Bar but enjoyed mojitos with our dinner and they were great! Definitely a nice beachy place to stop---view and service were exceptional.
