“O.C.'s Bar-B-Q is now closed”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

I stopped by Bethel Grocery this afternoon for some bait, and inquired about O.C.'s Bar-B-Q. The proprietor informed me that O.C.'s Bar-B-Q had closed about two month's ago, and a submarine sandwich shop has opened in its place. The proprietor's son, Cheyenne, recommended El Pobre, and another helpful gentleman in the "Cheyenne's Corner" section of the grocery store suggested Jukebox Junction for a family atmosphere ("no rough characters there") and 1950's themed experience.

“O.C.'s Bar-B-Que”
Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

This is the best bar-b-que I've eaten. Don't let the locatuion and lack of fancy signs fool you. I've gone out of my way just to eat here. Usually wind up taking a qt. Of Brunswick Stew home. If only NC would discover hash & rice I might move here.

“Swine not??”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

If you like BBQ, you will LOVE O.C.'s. It is family owned and operated and it shows. You feel like you are eating at a family get together when you are there. Do not let the fact that it is beside a gas station fool you. The decor is cool and gets you in the mood for bbq, but the FOOD is what makes this place a diamond in the rough. It takes hours to make home made BBQ yourself, but you need just pull in and take a seat here. The pulled pork is great, the brisket is outstanding, but i would kill a puppy for the ribs and collared greens. Even if you don't like greens you MUST get them. The Brunswick stew may be my favorite thing on the menu so you need to try that also. You will be unable to save room for desert, but that is why they make to go boxes. The blondies are sinfully delicious. I also like the peanut butter chocolate pie. All in all i give this place a fat and happy two thumbs up. They also have special BBQ sauces, sometimes they have signature sauces that are sort of experimental trials(ask your server). I had the bodacious sauce and it was like heaven juice. Make this place a part of your road trip if you travel the NC mountains.
