El Pobre doesn't look like much on the outside, but this local favorite has a strong following for a reason - good food and good prices.
The menu is more extensive than at most Mexican restaurants featuring items such as Potato Burritos, Pollo Con Crema, Enchiladas Rancheras and lots of chorizo. The salsa is fresh and the servings ample.
The location is on the way to Cold Mountain (made famous by Charles Frazier) and makes a great place to stop in for dinner after a hike.
Specials are available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and the senior menu is for those 55+.
