“Had a wonderful time...never left the property!”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We stayed in Cabin #3 - Katydid and loved it! The property was beautiful and our kids (ages 8, 6, 1) had a great time. We stopped at the grocery on the way in and didn't leave until checkout! We went on hikes and went fishing. The kids loved the stream and went tubing every chance they got. They got to have bonfires and smores, ran and played soccer in the field, and took advantage of the playground. We really enjoyed that we could let the older ones have a sense of freedom while watching from a nearby picnic table or hammock. The cabin was clean and cozy. We loved the rustic feel and appreciated the modern conveniences of TV/DVD player and library of games and movies when it was rainy. We had a porch on the front with rocking chairs and also back of our cabin with a swing. The sofa bed was not too comfortable for us, but our boys were absolutely content and slept well. We had family in other cabins and it was wonderful to visit comfortably with each other. We can't wait to go back!

Took our three kids for a family wedding and loved the property. There are so many little spots to sit and relax and the creek was a big hit with the kids. We wish we could live there it was so beautiful. Great location, right outside of Asheville. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our cabin was nicely decorated, really comfortable beds and slepping arrangements for the kids. Very family friendly accomadations and environment. I hope we can go back again some day.

After deciding to hold our wedding in Asheville, my wife and I began a rigorous internet search for the type of place that would facilitate 30-35 people in a rustic environment and give us flexibility to plan the type of wedding we wanted. Mountain Springs quickly rose to the top of our list. After a few conversations/emails with Kate King, we were convinced it was the place for our special event.

The property is amazing. Perfect distance away from the city. Nestled in hilly country and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mountain Springs is far enough away from the city that you can truly enjoy nature, but close enough to take a last minute trip into town for an excellent, local dinner or entertaining event.

Everyone in our party really enjoyed our experience. It was exactly the sort of wedding we wanted. Simple, minimal stress, and in the midst of a beautiful environment. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding at Mountain Springs Cabins and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. We never visited the property (we live on the other side of the country) so it was a bit of a leap of faith. When we arrived our expectations were more than exceeded. The photos on the website just don't do it justice- while we could tell it would be pretty there, we didn't realize just how beautiful a place it was. It's in a great location- you feel so far from everything- but downtown asheville is less than 20 minutes away.

We rented out the entire property- the cabins are lovely and in great condition. They all have air conditioning, they are beautifully and tastefully decorated. They also have plenty of space we had anywhere from 2 people to 10 people staying in a cabin and everyone was comfortable and felt they had plenty of space. All of our friends and family commented on how nice the cabins where. The property itself is pristine and it offers something for everyone. A lot of people with children especially appreciated that we had our wedding there. There are so many things for children to do and I think that made it much more enjoyable for their parents.

All these nice things being said- it was honestly the service from Alicia and Kate that made our wedding day/wedding week so special. I will be honest. When I read some comments people wrote about the cabins having strict rules- I was a little worried. But having stayed there I can tell you the "rules" are nothing more than common curtesy and common sense. Ours was the first full property wedding mountain springs hosted and thanks to all of Alicia and Kate's help- it went off without a hitch. They were kind enough to work with our vendors, to make our wedding day less stressful for us. They made us feel welcomed and free to ask for help whenever we needed it.

I am so thankful to Alicia and Kate for helping to make our wedding day the better than we ever thought it could be. We loved it so much we stayed an extra 2 days after our wedding and got to experience it for what it is most of the time- a quiet and peaceful place that makes you feel like you have the entire world to yourself!

We stayed in #7 the Hummingbird while visiting the Biltmore Estate. It was a nice quiet cabin with covered porch over looking the stream. We had the place to our selves and rarely saw anyone else. Really enjoyed the rocking chair and swing on the porch. The folks across the stream had ducks, cows, horses, chickens, etc so there was always something going on to watch. I understand the ducks are now famous on u-tube. Cabins were nice, clean and affordable. At night we watched the gas fire place and a little TV. We liked it so much we extended our stay. Kate and Alicia in the office were very accomodating and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Town is not far away if you need supplies. Would highly recommend.

We liked it so much that we have booked another trip for this fall.

These cabins are actually in Candler, NC. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this would be a great choice. If you have small kids this would be a great place. If you like city life, lots of restaurants and things to do, this is probably not the place. The grounds are lovely, the staff is friendly and polite. There is a great creek running through the property. You can have a bonfire. Lots of outdoor equipment, books, DVDs to use. Pet friendly in several cabins. Our cabin was small, and a bit dark. Some judicious pruning would improve the view of the creek from the deck. The bath was newly remodeled and very nice. Closet could be more user friendly with the addition of a rod on the top side. This is a very nice place if it is what you are looking for.

Room Tip: The Cricket is creekside, and secluded. But, small and suitable for couple.

We stayed in Firefly - cozy but plenty of room for parents with two kids. The first thing we noticed was how clean the cabin was. The grounds were lovely, with flowers blooming everywhere and the creek providing a soothing background, often accompanied by some roosters. No traffic sounds, which was heavenly. The newest staff members were quickly my daughters' favorites: four little kittens scampering around, who came each morning to get their cuddles and share their purrs. Kate gave great advice on restaurants and activities - Sandy Bottom Trail Rides was a terrific tip! We are already planning next year's trip, but possibly getting some friends to book at the same time. I would highly recommend these cabins!
