“A barrage of unexpected pleasures”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2013

The lovely home was set up the hill just a couple of miles from the highway. The grounds were amazing and the house rustic yet well kept. The foiliage and sprawling grounds were a joy even in early winter to peruse. What was even more surprizing was entering the home and seeing the exceptional wood paneling and architecture throughout. Even though the exterior is nice it does a poor job of preparing one for the interior. The rooms are spacious and dare I say luxurious. I would dare to say none of the rooms could be found wanting. Cheryl and Gretchen were also quite a pleasure to meet and spend time with. Both were helpful with local sites and dining recommendations. We couldn't have asked for more graqcious hosts or a finer culinary experiance. The only detriment to their recommendations were their own offerings for breakfast and sweets. Gretchen is truly a world class chef and both are the finest of personalities and character it would be a joy to visit them again.

We have always wanted to make a trip in the fall to the Asheville area. This year, we were able to get away from work and see what we had heard so much about for ourselves. We did not decide until a couple days before that we would go. We chose Honey Hill because they had an opening. Purely taking a chance-and it was wonderful. We stayed in a delightful small cabin, private, quiet and fully equipped. We did the Biltmore thing and ate in some great restaurants, all recommended by Gretchen. She also recommended a visit to Hendersonville and a back road to the Blue Ridge Parkway, driving towards Waynesville. Be sure to visit Hendersonville's shops! We had to pry ourselves away from Honey Hill to return to Houston. Cannot wait to return.

We stayed two nights in the Mt. Mitchell cabin, two bedrooms, two spacious baths, fireplace, and rocking chairs on a porch overlooking the mountains. Could not have been better. Cabins spaced for privacy. Easy drive to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate and a nearby grocery store. Great hospitality from the owners. Will return for a longer stay!

My wife and I always stay at the Honey Hill when we are in the area. Gretchen & Cheryl are always so gracious and exceed all our expectations. Being a business owner; I am a tough sale. But these fine ladies have totally sold be on their product and their personal commitment to their customers. You can tell they really love their customers and enjoy what they are doing. My wife tells everybody about our stays. She talks more about the Bed & breakfast at the Honey Hill than she does the Biltmore. In the evenings we anticipate our return to see what home cook goodies will be waiting for us. Awesome!

My husband, son and I stayed at the Looking Glass Cabin for 5 nights last week and had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean, well maintained, and had an amazing view of the mountains (without a scary drive up a narrow dirt road.) The property had a butterfly garden, old barn, and a perfect location for watching the sunset. With a quick 10 minute trip to Asheville, we couldn't have picked a better place!

Room Tip: Looking Glass Cabin is great for a single vacationer, a couple or a couple with 1 child. There is a...

We have stayed at Honey Hill Inn three times now, and each time, the experience just gets better and better. Cheryl and Gretchen are gracious, good-humored hosts who make sure that guests feel welcome and well-taken care of. The rooms with their wood work and fireplaces are clean, comfortable, and inviting. The breakfasts are other worldly. And the location is terrific for day-trips into the Smokies, for trips along the Blue Ridge Parkway or for shopping and dining expeditions into Asheville. We hope to return again soon!

Cherokee Cabin is perfect for a couple. It's a well-sized and well-appointed studio-very private too.
Bed was comfortable and the place was very clean-and I'm a stickler for cleanliness and will move out without a second thought if lodging is not clean! We had one breakfast in the main B&B house-can you say the breakfast was more than outstanding? Used Honey Hill as a base station for visiting all around the Blue Ridge Mountains-the parkway and the towns surrounding including
Ashville, NC -cabin was perfect for that. We saved alot of money by using the cabin's kitchen for making lunches to bring with and most breakfasts and even a couple dinners-cabin provides a BBQ that was actually clean (unheard of usually in public lodging). Highly recommened. The owners are fascinating too.

Room Tip: get Cherokee cabin for a nice romantic private spot
