This hotel was a nice treat that we found. I loved the aesthetics of the resort being a southern plantation. It was a gorgeous setting. What we did notice is that the bar closed awfully early, that is really my only complaint, it closed by 7, and my husband and I would have liked to go to it after going out to dinner. And off season a lot of the local restaurants are closed at that time. But there are some amazing seafood restaurants in the area, as well as some small local beaches which were better then driving to Myrtle Beach because it was less commercialized and a beautiful setting.
If you golf, it has a golf course, I can't comment on what the course is like, we were their for the beaches and the atmosphere, we did walk the courses and it was beautiful, we just have to walk on non-peak hours as to not interfere with the golfers, but it was gorgeous and the rooms were like mini condos, they had a kichenette area and a nice bed, you could have upgraded to a room with a living area, and I think next time we would, but either way, it was a great, beautiful peaceful hotel great for romance.More
