“Great 1/2 day Fishing Excursion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Just returned from Myrtle Beach and my husband had the pleasure of taking a fishing trip aboard the Navigator, one of the boats of the Calabash Fishing Fleet. Not only did he have a great and productive 1/2 day fishing trip but had the opportunity to meet a great bunch of people who owned and ran this business. It was top notch for the entire experience. He would highly recommend this trip to anyone who would like to try deep sea fishing while on vacation. He was very particular and checked out other excursions both in North Myrtle Beach and in Calabash but this one seemed to be the best and they proved him right. Again top notch operation and excellent trip. We will be back in 2013 and maybe he can get me to accompany him. The trip was great and the fish were plentiful! Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area.

“Don't book with Calabash Fishing Fleet”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

Booked a fishing trip for Friday -- after leaving the dock the captain decided the water was too rough to venture out to fish. We re-scheduled our trip for Saturday morning. Received a voicemail Friday night explaining the Saturday trip was cancelled. I returned a phone call to them to explain we would need a refund since we was leaving on Sunday. They then proceeded to explain they don't give refunds, they only give rain checks. I explained we live 8+ hours away and have no plans on visiting the area in the near or distance future. They again stated we don't give refunds. The no refund policy is not stated on their brochure or website.

I understand they’re looking out for our safety, but the no refund policy is ridiculous.

“NEVER dangerous”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

Took the dolphin adventure cruise. Boat was overloaded, water rough, boat tilted to side (dangerously over tilting), crew said weight issue with too many passengers and turned us around and we stayed on river, very slowly traveling to use up time (out 1 1/2 insted of 2 hrs). Glad crew was sensible, everyone on board scared, even those who had been deep sea fishing said boat was tilting too far. Owner/manger was not happy with crew when we returned to pier, he is all about the $$$, did not care about safety. Someone is goin to get hurt/killed if this happens often. I talked to another cruise boat, their boat was larger and had half as many people and their cruise was successful in reaching the shrimp boat we were supposed to have gone too. They saw boat we were on and said it had to many people for the size and conditions. DON't ever sail with this group. So thankful we safely returned.

“Evening Trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

Took the evening trip and had a good time. Staff was helpful and informative. Lots of Sea Bass (although not many keepers), couple small sharks, toadfish and some other fish. Sea was pretty calm and weather was great not to hot just a few light rain sprinkles. Preferred the smaller boat compared to some of the other fleets. Average priced snacks, drinks, beer, bait etc on board (cash only). Cant predict how good the fishing will be but... Would go again! Also happened to see a few dolphins while passing a shrimp boat!

“Everyone Sick”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012

Everyone that reviewed this was not correct... It was worse than they said. Would not recommend to anyone. No one caught any fish to keep, everyone was sick, last but not least, felt like they deceived everyone because everyone that I talked to told me that they told them that the seas were calm and a great day to fish. Not so! Would not go back at all and WILL NOT recommend.
