“Best B&B ever!”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

We stayed for 1 week in July and had an incredible time! This b&b gets top marks for thinking of everything. They have bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, coolers, towels and even sunscreen if you need. There is a BBQ to use if you like. Love the outside deck to watch sunsets. The room was immaculate and extremely well cared for. They've covered every detail right down to a nice tangerine scent as you enter the room. The breakfast choices and quality of food is outstanding. I'm vegan and my husband isn't and we both agree that Virginia is an incredible cook. She created the most delicious and healthy vegan breakfasts for me- different meals every day! My husband loved the mid day baked goodies that Virginia would leave out. Nice touch! Jed & Virginia are so friendly and welcoming. You really feel like you're staying with family. I can't say enough great things about this couple and their wonderful b&b. The beaches are all great. There are many of them and they're all different. We liked the beaches in Frisco since they were most like the ones on Ocracoke island but didn't need a ferry to get to. We saw dolphins many times swimming off shore. The beaches are soft white sand and not busy. Miles and miles of sand. The ocean is less choppy and easier to get into here too. The location of the b&b is very central to lots of things. Only 10 min to Hatteras and 5 min to Avon. There are a few good restaurants around or you can go to the local supermarket and pick up food and make it on the BBQ. Our favourite restaurant was Pangea. Had some great vegan options too! There is lots to do and beautiful scenery to take in. It was a nice restful vacation for us both. Jed & Virginia are miles ahead of other B&B's. They set a new standard
in high level service. We will definitely be returning.

Jen & Paul

If I could I would give CHB&B 10 stars. Not only were the rooms spotless upon our arrival, the first ting i noticed was it did not have that typical beach room musty smell. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Virginia and Anna can really cook. I can't wait to have another BLT. Both Virginia and Jed made us feel right at home. I feel like we made new friends. We can not wait to go back.We have been looking for a place like this for years and are so glad to have found them.

PS
Hope you enjoyed the pizza sauce..

Room Tip: I'm sure all rooms are just fine

We recently returned from our second outstanding stay at Cape Hatteras B&B. We've stayed in Gloria both times. It was clean and fresh before, but has gotten even another upgrade. We really like the new king bed setup….it was super comfortable and somehow made the room feel bigger than before.
Jed, Virginia and their entire staff really know what they're doing. They pay attention to the details. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. They accommodate/outfit your days at the beach perfectly and are great sources of info on the island and things to do even on a rainy day. A month later, I'm still thinking about how great the breakfasts were.
We love staying here and can't wait to return again.

Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful little place and Virginia was very welcoming! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next trip!

Also, each room has its own entrance from the outside which was very wonderful and there are bikes available to use on a first come, first serve basis. They also provided beach towels (which we forgot!), beach chair, boogie boards, and coolers! Very convenient and thoughtful!

We spent 5 nights in Gloria in late June. Gloria was a nice choice for us. It is handy to parking on the first floor. The room was clean, recently redecorated, and quiet. We enjoyed reading in the sunrom off the breakfast area. It is a lovely inviting area. The shared deck off the sunrrom is uncovered and entirely in the sun so is too hot to use during the day. Breakfast was excellent and different each of our 5 mornings. Buxton has a modest selection of places for dinner but seafood is featured everywhere and is quiet good.

My husband and I spent five nights here and we had the best experience! Virginia and Jed (and of course little Hank!) were gracious hosts and provided us with everything we needed to have a great time. The room we stayed in was Gloria and it was SO comfortable. The king sized mattress was awesome. The room was modern and clean. The food was outstanding with many great choices which made it difficult to pick one. The nearby beaches were a pleasure to hang out on. We cannot say enough about how much fun we had! Thank you to Virginia, Jed, Anna, Merideth, Paulette and Norbe for all that you did to make our stay so wonderful.

Great beach escape at the Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast. Virginia and Jed our hosts thought of everything we could possibly need. The breakfasts were amazing. We stayed in the Emily and were very comfortable. The room was super clean and the bed linens were crisp and clean. The ocean was just a short walk away. Thanks for the great time.
