“Great first bed and breakfast experience.”
Reviewed July 3, 2011

Jed and Virginia made our first b&b experience enjoyable. They were super friendly, helpful and made a nice breakfast. I slept well in the comfy bed and felt rejuvenated when I left. We will come back!

This was a diamond in the rough! All the comforts of home in a very inviting atmosphere. The room was exceptionally clean and very bright and airy, with the added bonus of little "green" touches all around. The inside and outside of the B&B was tastefully beachy and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was out of this world delicious and the innkeepers were very friendly and eager to please. We're looking forward to our next visit.

We booked this B&B because we were attending a wedding in Buxton and needed a place to stay for the night. Had no idea what a treasure the B & B would turn out to be. Jed & Virginia are just so sweet and wanted to make sure our stay was Perfect. It Was. Wait till you try Virginia's Cookies in the afternoon and then Home Made Breakfast waiting for us in the morning. It was delightful sitting on the deck drinking my morning coffee and watching the ocean. Thinking wish we had booked 2 nights BUT we shall return soon.

Room Tip: Leave it up to Jed or Virginia to pick your room.

To really understand the relevance of this review, I should tell you about myself. I'm a thirty-something Washingtonian who loves to find hidden gems when traveling. The Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast is just that - a gem! Jed and Virginia are warm and welcoming. You can't find a better made-from-scratch breakfast anywhere on the island. The beach is a short walk away and the days we visited we had a large span of beach all to ourselves! The Hatteras Lighthouse is also nearby, a great treat for those who feel the need to exercise on vacation -- over 200 steps. This is a great destination for a QUITE weekend away from the hustle of the city. And did I mention the homemade cookies - WOW! If you're an OBX fan, you'll love it here!

Virginia & Jed run this beautiful B & B right next to the sea with loving care. In the same way they treat their guests: they're polite, attentive and couldn't do more to make you feel at home. The rooms are pretty, spacious all with their own bathroom and personal entrance. Guests eat breakfast in an airy dining room that opens on to the kitchen where the couple serve up Virginia's delicious, varieties of freshly cooked organic breakfast . Beach towels, chairs, coolers, bycycles and even a large BBQ grill up on a lovely sun deck were free for the use of guests. Unfortunately we had to leave early missing out on an afternoon ' snack' of Virginia's special Carrot Cake, but we'll be back for that! Thanks Virginia and Jed, you couldn't have made our getaway better!!

We had a great experience here. We are a young couple who have never stayed at a B&B before. Jed and Virginia are so dedicated to their job and it shows. They are so helpful in suggesting restaurants, tourism ideas, etc. The inn itself is very clean and well kept up.

We loved the breakfast; Virginia is a chef at heart and by trade and makes it a point to change the menu daily and give a variety of choices to the guests.

If your travels to the Outer Banks takes to to the Hatteras area, a stay at Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast is a must.

Room Tip: Use your AAA discount and stay in Andrew!
