“Last minute getaway”
Reviewed June 5, 2011

Virginia & Jed run this beautiful B & B right next to the sea with loving care. In the same way they treat their guests: they're polite, attentive and couldn't do more to make you feel at home. The rooms are pretty, spacious all with their own bathroom and personal entrance. Guests eat breakfast in an airy dining room that opens on to the kitchen where the couple serve up Virginia's delicious, varieties of freshly cooked organic breakfast . Beach towels, chairs, coolers, bycycles and even a large BBQ grill up on a lovely sun deck were free for the use of guests. Unfortunately we had to leave early missing out on an afternoon ' snack' of Virginia's special Carrot Cake, but we'll be back for that! Thanks Virginia and Jed, you couldn't have made our getaway better!!
Teresa & Massimo.

We had a great experience here. We are a young couple who have never stayed at a B&B before. Jed and Virginia are so dedicated to their job and it shows. They are so helpful in suggesting restaurants, tourism ideas, etc. The inn itself is very clean and well kept up.

We loved the breakfast; Virginia is a chef at heart and by trade and makes it a point to change the menu daily and give a variety of choices to the guests.

If your travels to the Outer Banks takes to to the Hatteras area, a stay at Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast is a must.

Young innkeepers Virginia and Jed welcomed us into the Inn and were the best part of our stay on the Outer Banks because of their friendliness, suggestions on what to do and where to eat dinner, and the absolutely delicious breakfasts they served every morning. My favorites were the Traditional Southern and the Green Eggs and Ham (imagine thick, tasty Virginia ham, freshly made basil cream sauce and fluffy poached eggs). Our room was newly renovated and clean, and the living and breakfast areas of the Inn were inviting with freshly baked cookies, tea and coffee available all day. We walked the fifty or so steps to the beach and used the beach chairs available for guests.

Delighted with this B&B, within walking distance of uncrowded public beach and several restaurants, bakeries and small shops. Formerly a motel so rooms large, each with its own bath and outdoor entrance. Attractive common room with books, magazines and resident parrot. Nice deck with view of ocean where I often sat with my book and morning coffee or afternoon tea. Owner was extremely helpful, arranging dinner reservations for us, etc. Delicious and plentiful breakfasts plus cookies or brownies in afternoon.

This is a very well maintained property and our room was very nice. Everything was updated and the room was very tastefully decorated. It was a very good value for the price. The location was great so close to the beach and light house. It was close enough to walk but not if you have a lot of stuff to take but a very short drive. The breakfast was delicious. We were very happy with our experience there.

The bed and breakfast is at walking distance from the beach restaurants and shops. It is immaculate. The inn keeper is a sweet lady. I liked it so much I stayed an extra night. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious.

My Wife and I were very impressed with this Bed and Breakfast. Our room was ready at arrival, we were shown to our room and were also given tips about the best places to eat, visit, etc... The room was clean and was in very good shape.

Cathy and the staff were very attentive and friendly frequently asking us if we needed anything or if they could assist us further. We enjoyed our conversations with all of them.

The Cape Hatteras Bed and Breakfast reminded me of a place that I stayed in Europe that had the most attentive Innkeeper. Cathy ranks up there with him. If our travels bring us back to Buxton, we will stay again.
