“Great lunch stop”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Even though we frequent Hatteras Island, we had never dined at Diamond Shoals based on reviews we had read. Boy, we were wrong! My son and I stopped for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. The clam chowder is very good. It's more like a New England chowder than a North Carolina chowder, but very good all the same. Their grouper sandwich is great. I've eaten grouper sandwiches up and down the East Coast of the US and this ranks as #2 of all the ones I have had (and #1 was from a little joint in Clearwater, FL 30 years ago that has long since closed).

“Loved this place”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

We stopped here on our way back from the Hatteras Light House. We like to try local restaurants and this was a great find. We stopped for lunch and the prices were great, the fish was fresh, and the food was excellent. They have super yummy hush puppies too.

“Great Service! Great Grouper!”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

I live in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina but hadn't been down to Buxton in years! My dad and I stopped in here and were pleasantly surprised. Pam our server was very nice and the grouper sandwich and sweet potato fries were fabulous! If you haven't been to Buxton before, it is worth the trip! Not only is there is good food but there's lots of natural beauty on Hatteras Island. Plus, the Cape Hatteras light house is a great attration!
