“Great restaurant in Cape Hatteras”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

We've visited Rusty's twice and both times we were quite pleased with menu, food quality and atmosphere. The staff are all pleasant. Way to go Brenda!

“Overrated and overpriced”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Not sure why everyone was recommending this place as we had the calamari (ok) and the hush puppies (good). However, my steak was extremely fatty and priced at nearly $30 (ouch). My wife liked her seafood but it was also very pricey ($25). We had no alcohol and our bill was almost $100. And although the staff is nice your view is of a parking lot. I would head to Hatteras Village if I had to do it over.

“Reservations at the beach and great food, what more do you want?”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Called for reservations the day before, dinner for two. Seated at the appointed time with a wait of less than 5 minutes. First let me say that during the summer vacation season they have a mix of large groups with children, etc., so it was loud. Having said that, don't think it is reasonable to expect anything else during the season.
Ordered two appetizers, the calamari (enough to share) and the Shrimp and Crab Spring rolls, both were terrific. For the main course I had the Shrimp Jambalaya, loaded with shrimp, seasoned just right for me, super meal, lots to eat. My wife had the Pamlico Platter, also great! Plenty of food, seasoned to her taste (not easy).
Did not order any dessert, too full from apps and main course. Bottom line, great meal at a reasonable price

“Don't miss it!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Ate here twice in 4 days and even my impatient husband didn't mind waiting for an hour the second time (first time we waited 15 minutes.) Fried shrimp on the Callabash side of the menu (we normally don't eat fried food) was the BEST!! Collards were also the BEST!! Mashed red potatoes were delicious. Calamari appetizer was outstanding - melt in your mouth tender and tasty. Key lime pie was the best we ever had, however, on both nights the crust was burnt and one would think for $7.50/slice that it would be perfect. Well drinks overpriced at $8.00 each and not that good. Service was friendly and attentive. We would drive 5 hours just to eat there.

“Such accommodating folks”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Our party, though we had called ahead, grew in number by the time we arrived at Rusty's. The folks there were extremely accommodating to us and, embarrassingly, stayed late to take care of us. Kudo's and thanks to Rusty's!
