Based on mixed TA reviews we were not entirely sure what to expect. Main room was cozy and view of the sound was spectacular. Service was attentive and helpful. Started dinner by splitting a bowl of Hatteras clam chowder. If you have not had Hatteras-style chowder you owe it to yourself to try it when you're down here and Sandbar's is excellent, chock full of veggies and clams. Got an excellent (local) Carolina brewing sky blue ale which was a crisp, solid accompaniment to dinner. Which was also excellent. Wife got a Caesar salad with blackened tuna. Salad (with homemade dressing) was huge and tasty. Fried (very fresh) shrimp with big mound of really good mashed-o-tatoes for me. Had to pass on desert 'cause we were full. And glad we came!
