Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is one of the best I’ve seen on the East Coast. There is no fee unless you decided to go inside and take the stairs to the top. There is a small gift shop and museum. It’s interesting to see the old light house location as well as how they moved it to the current spot. This year the kids participated in a Junior National Seashore Ranger program where they complete a booklet as well as a few activities and earn a ranger badge. They were also able to get trading cards with Island history from the rangers throughout the area.
